Yamaha RX-V1900 won't start by remote! Help need!!

Hi all, I have a Yamaha RX-V1900 receiver for almost 8 monthes. Just start this month, it won't start by the remote control at first 15-20 mins. It can be turned on by press the power button on the machine. I tried to replace the batteries and still the same thing. What ever I press the remote, it won't response by the receiver even it is on already. After sometime (I don't know how long, maybe 10-15 minutes), the remote control lives again and everything became normal and all the buttons work again.

After I turn off the unit for 20 minutes, same problem happens again. Wait 15 minutes, the remote control works again.

Anybody knows why? Thanks

Id call Yama tech support, but it sounds like a failing IR in the avr. Do you use the remote to control other products? Have you done a system reset to see if that fixes it?

Thank you for your feedback. Since the receiver was purchased in US and I am in Canada. So probably the warranty is void.

Anyway, I didn't use the remote to control other products.

System reset hasn't been performed, maybe I shall do this tonight.

Anyother thoughts? Thanks

Still call tech support if the reset doesnt work. Yamaha is pretty good with providing support(phone) even out of warranty.
