Rush Snakes & Arrows Live is one of my faves.

Hate to admit it, but Destiny's Child Live in Atlanta is pretty good too. I'm not a huge fan of their music, but they get all wet in t-shirts at the end. Pretty hot :D

Here are a few ideas!

im looking to get into jazz, any recommendations for a jazz blu-ray? I might pick up/rent the Chris Botti in Boston, it looks pretty nice.
To start with, try:

1) http://www.amazon.com/Diana-Krall-Live-Paris/dp/B00005Y3ZM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1262015101&sr=1-1

And, the "Live at Montreux" series (jazz artists from the 70s, 80s, and 90s), such as:

2) http://www.amazon.com/Legends-Live-Montreux-Various-Artists/dp/B000AMJFX6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1262014401&sr=1-1

Also, the "Norman Granz Jazz in Montreux Presents . . ." series (older great players), such as:

3) http://www.amazon.com/Norman-Granz-Montreux-Presents-Jackson/dp/B0002P192Q/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1262014880&sr=1-17

Finally:

"The Jazz Channel Presents . . ." series (more modern jazz artists), such as:

4) http://www.amazon.com/Jazz-Channel-Presents-Keiko-Matsui/dp/6305211973/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1262014981&sr=1-3

The four specific ones I list above are ones I own and consider to the best in there respective series.

Enjoy,

Has anyone heard and watched "Return to Forever: Return Live at Montreux"? It looks to be very interesting. I'd like to know what kind of sound quality to expect from this.

Roy Orbison "Black & White Night"

Although this concert is filmed in black and white (hence the name) and will not push-the-envelope of blu-ray's video abilities, this is completely superceded by the phenomenal DTS-MA sound track--which is mind blowing!!

Excerpt below is from a post I put in a DVD concert thread and is even more true for the blu-ray version.
(Yup, good enough I double dipped!) :D

Roy Orbison "Black & White Night" is an amazing concert, highly recommend. It is a tribute concert by, and for, Roy Orbison, a long-time rock balladeer, who is well respected enough by his contemporaries (Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and KD Lang) to have them play back-up for him.

Filmed in black and white at a small club (I believe in LA) in the late 1980s, it is as good of a performance I have ever seen. You probably have heard some of his tunes before, such as Pretty Woman (used in the movie of same name), Only the Lonely, and Crying.

Read reviews on Amazon to see more elaborate praise than mine--the DTS (now DTS-MA on Blu-ray) version has especially good (try outstanding) audio.

Cheers,

+1 For Jeff Beck live at Ronnie Scotts, you get some great rockabilly bonus material and Tal Wilkenfeild will rock your DACs.
Return to forever is also very good Chick will hit some notes that will fill the bill for your LFE requirements.

The John Mayer "Where the Light Is" live in LA is a very good concert. I know he is mainly known as a pop artist but this guy can jam some blues on the guitar. The concert is broken up into three parts acoustic, blues, and pop. Definitely worth checking out.
Couldn't agree more:D....I just got it today...great performance and sound.
