I log in and I get a political ad against Scott Brown. Are you kidding me???? I thought that this place would just let members discuss things but not take money from a group that distorts the truth. This place, not the members, just lost all credability for me.

I saw no such thing. Sure you don't have malware?

Did it come up when you were in Jamie's thread? I have noticed that the ads are sometimes related to the topic at hand, I don't know how it works exactly but that's what I have observed. On my Nissan Titan forum ads for dodge and toyota pop up when they are mentioned in the threads.

It came up on the side banner where the ad's run. I just noticed it at AVS also.

Try clicking on the Audioholics tab at the top left and see if you see the ad.

This would indicate it's not the forum, but maybe something on your machine... either malware, or cookies or something else stored in your cache that often invokes ads on various websites that seemingly suit your personal tastes and/or browsing habits. Doubtful the AH admins would ever alienate their own members by posting political ads - they just let the members duke it out amongst themselves here in the Steam Vent. ;)

Funny, when I clicked on the AH tab top left I got an ad for chimpanzees in clown suits...

Whereas all the other ads are perfectly honest and truthful. Never seen a distorted audio claim, eh? Chill out a bit.

I thought the same thing but it comes up on the main AH page and the forums page. I like these forums and I would hate to see them go that route, although it seems like some people here don't care that on a forum dedicated to AV other things should be involved. I don't and will not participate if it continues.

I come here to "chill out" and that is different then someone telling me that monster cable is the best on their Bose system, If you know what I mean.

I do, and I'd rather not see politcal ads as well, but if AH is in fact taking them because they need the revenue then I can live with them. I don't want to pay for this forum, and I don't expect someone else to out of their pocket.

I've logged out and cleared my cookies and haven't seen any ads other than ones dealing with electronics on both the forums and the review site as well. Has anyone else seen this ad?

That would explain the ad for the Broke Back Mountain Blu-Ray I saw in Alex's thread.

No I just do some homework and after that make my decision as to the truth, which it was not.
That comment from avarsefi was directed at me and my monkey comment, not to you... sounds like maybe you do have a bit of an axe to grind, or perhaps just having a bad day or something? Maybe take a walk to clear your head or something... :(
