What do you guys think of this setup?

To be honest, they are more reflective than LCD because they are glass, but they use good quality anti reflective coatings.
My plasma sits on a west side wall facing east and I have a huge front window. I get southern sun exposure all day and it's not a problem for me. The picture on my Panasonic is just as good in the daylight hours as it is at night.

I own 2 plasmas, one in a room with a bay window and I have ZERO issues. The pannys are good units and well worth the purchase. Im not sure what plasma your Boss has owned but Pioneer and Panasonic are more than a few generations removed from the issues you concerns about.

A little time spent in the Display forum might prove positive.

Well that sucks....Looks like SVS just raised their prices about $200. Now its definitely more then what I want to pay.....

Now how about this set up:

Ive been reading on it and it seems like no one has anything but good things to say about it.

I havent heard the system, and EMP makes good products. The system is sold at the audioholics store also. The sub is going to give you the impact of the SVS although better than the systems you were originally looking.PM Gene and see if he has any thoughts on the EMP with the Velodyne sub that is Packaged at the AH store instead of the EMP sub. Also you might want to try calling them before you make your descison and see if they would extend the Holiday pricing

BTW>>> I strongly recommend getting the S1 50" from panny, over the 5 series (or for that fact any series except maybe the 9) sammy.

Id say comparable, except the sub.
How comparable would it be with the Velodyne Sub? Im wqndering if EMP will sell the set without the sub completely and then I could add my own.

Well guys Ive been reading and reading trying to find the best setup for my needs. Im kinda worried about going with EMP cause there is VERY little info on them. I found a couple REALLY GOOD deals. Let me know what you think.

All of this is BRAND NEW

1. Klipsch HD500 $350 Shipped

2. Klipsch Synergy F1 Floorspeakers, C1 Center, and S1 Surrounds, ED A2-300 $930 shipped

3. Klipsch HD500, F2 Floorspeakers $850 shipped for a 7.1 set up?

Im thinking the 3rd option for the money.

Ive searched and searched and there are very few people who actually own them and that can give opinions of them vs other speakers. I found one thread that compares them to TSC.

Also I saw the review on audioholics web site but am un-sure because they sell the speakers. So Im not completely sure if its a marketing ploy or not.

Ultimately it's up to you. Klipsch has been around for a long time. I don't think you could go wrong with them.
