You could be right. Maybe I'm just still expecting them to let us down as they have in the past. On paper, they match up well. Will they match up as well on the field though?
IMO it's all going to come down to nerves, and who can handle the pressure better. And who has the most pressure on them in this game?

Mark Sanchez is not expected to win in his rookie year. As far as everyone is concerned he has done a fantastic job. It the Jets lose this game, it will be disappointing. But no one expected them to make it this far.

Rivers on the other hand is expected to deliver.

Whoevers defense steps up this week. That's the team that is going to win.

They still are better than the eagles franchise. They've actually won a super bowl!:p

I think the Jets have a chance because of their defense, but let's not get carried away the Chargers are setup to be in the Super Bowl and this is probably their best shot in a while with the Pats out.

My picks for next week are

Colts
Cardinals(Will be a great game IMO)
Chargers

I hope we have the 4 C's. In the 3rd round.

The Jets have a great D, but they don't have an offense that is successful when it has to throw the ball. I was at the game against Atlanta a few weeks back... the Falcons shut down the Jets running game and Sanchez was forced to throw- 3 interceptions later it was game over.

A big problem against San Diego is that they have a very good run defense, and they have a high powered passing offense. If the Jets are unable to run the ball, or they fall behind and can no longer run the ball, I don't see them being able to keep up.

I don't expect them to win, but I didn't really expect them to win last week or be in the playoffs this year either. ;)

And if the Jets defensive line, especially the defensive ends. If they can get to Rivers. The Jets defensive backs will do the rest to stop that "high powered" passing offense.

Like I said before. The pressure is on Rivers. If the Jets pressure him, I think he will fold "Under Pressure".

I don't disagree they have a great pass rush, but I think the Jets have a big dilemma when it comes to the secondary as to who covers Gates. He cannot be covered downfield by an LB, and the jets don't have a big enough safety to cover him (Leonhard is awesome but only 5'8, and Rhodes has gotten undressed several times this year). Do you take Revis and put him on Gates? Do that and you end up with Vincent Jackson on Lito Sheppard... that could get ugly. You also have 6'5" Malcolm Gates to cover, plus LDT and Sproles out of the backfield.

Cincy was a great matchup for the Jets because you could put Revis on Chad Ocho and then focus on shutting down the run. SD has major matchup weapons when it comes to size that you almost have to sit back in zone to cover them all. If you big blitz (which Ryan loves to do) all Gates needs is a little separation off the line and it's like playing catch out there.

I'm not a huge Rivers fan, but the guy comes to play and seems to have ice in his veins. He's got 11 4Q comebacks in his career out of a total of 64 games played (that's pretty fricking good), and just doesn't seem to get very rattled.

'Nuff said. And Sanchez is no Brett Farve. As long as our defense plays reasonably well, I don't see the Jets being able to keep up.

It looks like Perry Fewell is going to be the next defensive co-ordinator for the New York Giants.

Just a little history about him, his previous job was the defensive co-ordintor for the Buffalo Bills during the **** Jauron era. Before that I believe he was a position coach on defensive for the Chicago Bears. As a defensive co-ordintor with the Bills I found his defensive philosphy uninspiring. A standard 43 defense cover 2 type scheme - lots of zone coverage that relied on good tackling - "bend but don't break". His defenses were always poor against the run. The Bills defense ranked last against the run this year and could never stop high explosive passing attacks with spread sets (NE Patriots for example).

Maybe Fewell can do more with the Giants which have undoubtly a better defense line especially at the defensive end and linebackers but I am just not a fan of his philosphy/scheme on defense - maybe that will change in NY. Not a "great" hire IMO.

Well he was coaching the Bills. With the Giants I'd expect him to do better. Coughlin is a great coach to mentor him and with the D-Line of the Giants they don't need to be cute. Any team that signs TO has issues. I hope you guys cut him.

Well he was the interim headcoach for the Bills after Jauron got fired which doesn't really mean much imo. His experience lies in being a co-ordinator. He did an ok job but still coached safe and didn't take chances "the philosphy on not trying to lose" even when at the point in the season there wasn't anything to lose. He wasn't a bad headcoach but he didn't get me excited either.

How can you cut a player that isn't even under contract???

I thought they gave him 2 years. LOL. Glad to hear he's not coming back.

I really wish you'd have gotten Mike instead of Snyder.

This weekend is gonna be crazy. I've not had the Boys this close to anything in a long time. I feel like this is the best team we've had in over a decade. I'm very pumped for the upcoming game on Sunday.

The game I am really looking forward to this week - Cowboys vs Vikings

Hoping for a monster game out of my boy Percy Harvin.

Would love to see a Colts vs Vikings superbowl.
