Hi,

I just got my pioneer vsx-1019 recv and want to setup it with my old home theater systems speakers. I have Panasonic SC-PT650 home theater system including a passive sub woofer which has just one cord like other speakers, no input/output jacks. Pioneer has line level output for sub which is not matching up with my old system. I want to use my old system for a while, is there any way to setup my old sub. with the receiver??

Thanks,

Does the sub have speaker connects? If it does i would assume just connect rec front speaker connects to sub then the front speakers to sub..

The panny has speaker outputs for all channels on the receiver. The sub doesnt have a high pass out via speaker level.

You will need to buy an amplifier to go between receiver and sub. This is not worth it in my view. You won't get an increased benefit from your rig without a speaker upgrade all round.

The rule is speakers first and then receiver or separates.
