Guys, I have read almost every single AVR lab measurements published by HTmag and S&V (I subscribe to both) done in the last couple of years and noticed inconsistencies. For now I would suggest that using those measurements to compare the test specimens only make sense if they are tested by the same person using the same setup. That means the group tests may be fine but individual tests may be not (just not sure).
I do find the British Home Cinema Choice mag bench test results more consistent to what one would expect from historic figures. For example, there should not be much difference in the power rating of a RX-V657, 659, 661, 663, 861,863 yet HTmag/S&V showed the last 4 much weaker in mch. It is just not believable. That being said, I admit it is kind of weird the Denon AVR4310 did manage to yield numbers consistent to their predecessor, the 3808. Weird in that it would seem to contracdict what I commented earlier. I would like to see more tests on the lower Denon models before jumping to any conclusions.
