The remote for the Polk Micro 1000 has Phase buttons. What does each touch of the phase button going from 0 to 90 to 180 and so forth accomplish? I can't really tell to get an affect, so right now I have it set to 0. Is the Bass boomier if set higher? I just want to know what the phasing button actually accomplishes.

Depending on your room, seating position, and sub location you may want your sub playing out of phase with your mains. Your just going to have to experiment with what sounds the best.

If your sub is on the same end of the room, near your mains, it will most likely be 0. If it isn't obvious by listening, you would probably need a SPL meter to tell whether one of the other settings would be better, but again, if you can't hear it, it probably is fine at 0 as most systems typically are. If your sub was on the opposite side of the room, a different setting (180) might work better.

It's easier to set with two people, IMO. Have friend change setting, listen to bass heavy music. You tell him when to change, and pay attention. The best setting will have the bass seem fuller from the listening position.
