You got it. Check out Monoprice for great, inexpensive cables.

Of course not! Buying a cable with orange ends that was built specifically for a sub will give you beefier bass, extended bottom end, and make your other speakers really come alive. Make sure to use cable elevators for maximum SPL. /sarcasm.

:D

I promise I'm not giving you a hard time OP, I just like the word "beefier"

If you have a component video cable laying around and they can be seperated you can use one of them. Anolog is anolog and it will work fine. I had an old component cable that I seperated and I use one of them for my sub cable and it works fine.

This is what I did too.

Is a Sub cable just an RCA cable?
Here's some information for you regarding Sub Cables

The most important point though is the shielding for hum rejection. Capacitance doesn't really have too much of a roll to play due to the low frequencies the subs are going to be playing at. Theoretically it will 'help' roll off high frequencies coming through it from the source which is 'theoretically' helpful since you are normally using a crossover anyway to prevent higher frequencies from being sent to the sub.

Don't get too caught up with all the audio cable marketing hype :) Unless you just happen to have 'golden ears' and super duper equipment, I don't you'll ever consistently notice any difference between cables of decent design and used in the correct circumstance. You WILL however notice difference between speakers quite easily and the effects of acoustic treatment in rooms is also quite noticeable. Those two areas probably have more effect on your end audio result than anything else at 'normal' listening levels.

Hope this helps!
