You act like Eli was the only one on the field. Eli had the better TEAM around him that year, but he still couldn't hold Philip's jock.
Don't even feed me that bull.

The Chargers have better receivers. So good that Chriss Chambers didn't even make the cut. Did you know at KC he's the best receiver on the team and at Miami he was the best receiver on the team. Yet he can't even make the Chargers.

Rivers has Gates the 2nd best Tight End in the game. He has LT who's still a top 5 RB. They also have Sproles who is a very explosive player.

Your defense seems to do just fine too.

Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw aren't even on the same plant as LT.

Vincent Jackson is better than Plaxico was IMO.

Also your boy Rivers has 4 games a year against the Chefs and Raiders. Eli plays in the best division in football.

Eli also makes better commercials. Your anti-Eli bias is clear. Rivers is nothing more than Romo with better stats/coaches/supporting cast and couple of lucky playoff wins. :p Eli has ruined many days for me. Rivers has ruined 1 day.

Brees is better than Eli, but no one is arguing that. I mean if a man can make the Saints competitive he should get a medal or something.

Again complete bullsh-it.

IMO the last game of the season. 8:15 PM, Dec 29th 2007, Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. New England Patriots at New York Giants. The Giants lost 38-35.

That is the night that the Giants gained confidence.
That is the night that the Giants became a team.

Thats the night that Eli Manning became the leader of the New York Giants.

It was Eli who made that team what it became that year.

Superbowl Champions

For that matter, Drew Bress is a better QB than Eli.
Brees is having a great year. Can't take that away from him. And he has been a very good QB during his career. But he hasn't been an elite QB. So what's your statement mean other then bashing Eli because you have a personal vendetta?

Eli can't do the job alone. Philip can. It's as simple as that.
Philips can???

2004--Rivers received very limited playing time in the 2004 season.
2005--Backup QB
2006--Rivers became a contender in week 5. But he couldn't get the job done this year.

Rivers led several 4th quarter comebacks in 2006, and posted the league's highest 4th quarter quarterback rating. His performance over the season led to a selection to the 2007 Pro Bowl. After a 14–2 season the Chargers were set to play the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs. The Patriots won 24–21.

2007--Again Rivers couldn't get the job done

After a 1–3 start, the Chargers found their groove finishing 11–5 and winning the AFC West for the second straight year. The Chargers also won their first two playoff games since the 1994 season, beating the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts before falling to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game 21–12.

2008--AGAIN Rivers couldn't get the job done

Fortunately for Rivers the AFC West were quite poor and they were able to win the division over Denver by a tie-breaker. On January 3, 2009, the San Diego Chargers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 23–17 to advance to the AFC Divisional Playoff. Rivers led the Chargers down the field down 3 points with under 2 minutes left. He set up Nate Kaeding for a game-tying field goal that would lead to overtime, where the Chargers would go on to win 23–17, thanks to a Darren Sproles touchdown. In the divisional round versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rivers played well throwing for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns but was sacked 4 times and threw an interception. Despite his efforts, the team fell short and lost to the Steelers 35–24. They possessed the ball for only 17 seconds during the third quarter and had only 15 yards rushing.

This is such a bogus statement. I don't think you, or anyone else can say one is better then the other.
If I were picking an NFL QB to build a team around, Eli would probably make the top 10, but just barely. Rivers would easily be in the top five. And I think the vast majority of NFL experts would agree.

I think it's quite easy to say that Rivers is the better QB. Compare their stats. Rivers carries the Bolts on his back. Eli was exposed when the Giants defense and running game lagged. Eli can't do the job alone. Philip can. It's as simple as that.
Are you saying that the rest of the Bolts suck?

More BS. Brees is the definition of an Elite QB.

Brees is on a shoddy team and still makes them look amazing. New Orleans has a bunch of late round draft choices for a supporting cast. Take Brees out of New Orleans and you have a team about as good as the raiders.

Eli is also an elite QB because he led his team from a wild card spot to a super bowl title beating Favre in Green Bay, A Dallas team that was loaded, and one of the best offenses in NFL history. Eli is getting better every year and is becoming more like his brother every year. Problem for him is he plays the Cowboys and Eagles twice every year and that's not easy.

Now we are being a bit harsh on Rivers. The Pats and Steelers are better teams with better QBs so it's unfair to expect him to win. :D

I'm saying that up until the last couple of seasons, the Bolts were much like the Giants, a team that got by on outstanding defensive play and a powerful running game.

This season, the running is almost non-existent. Our defensive line is patchwork at best. We've got a guy that was working at an airport rent-a-car place playing as our nose tackle for God's sake. Yet the Chargers have won 9 in a row. Every team knows that we're going to throw the ball and they still can't stop it.

Put Eli on a team with a pathetic running attack and a defense that plays just well enough to not lose games and let's see how he does. I GUARANTEE you he doesn't do as well as Rivers.

2007 - So you're going to bring up a post-season where Rivers played on a torn ACL and say that he sucks?!?!? Gimme a break. He was a hero in those games.

2008 - Just like your boy Eli, without defense, it's hard to win games. As you noted, we didn't get the ball at all in the 3rd quarter. It's hard to score points when you're sitting on the sidelines. You can't blame Philip for the defenses' pathetic performance in that game.

The Giants defense has lost key player after key player this year to injury since the begining of the season.

And what run game are you talking about this year with the Giants?
