I am looking for any tips on how to get the best price. They are listed at $399 each. Only one dealer local.

Normal discount ? 5% -20% off?

There are deliberately minimal local dealers. The art of the haggle.

FWIW: dealer cost is generally half MSRP.

Like Jerry says, haggle with the dealer. The dealer near me always claims Paradigm limits how much they can take off the retail price which is why I turned to the used market. It might help if you mentioned being interested in another brand of comparable price that the dealer doesn't carry. Worth a shot anyway. I think your estimate of 5-20% is reasonable.

Paradigm makes studio 10s? Is that a new model?

The 10's are new for the v5 Studio line and the 40's have been discontinued. The mid and bass drivers in the 60's have been downsized as well.

And the phase-plugs are gone in the sigs. I wonder if 'digm is improving their tech or cutting corners (no pun intended).

This issue came up right away when the v3 sigs came out. I was pretty annoyed. Looks like cutting corners to me. Now it's just a dust cap. I can't believe they would do that on the flagship line. I'm wondering if they were rushed to market because of the v5 Studio line coming out. I've heard v2 and v3 S8's and I really couldn't tell the differnce between the two sound wise.

I was also concerned about this, and it seemed to spell out the same to me - cutting corners, but ultimately in the end I got a C5 .v2, S2's .v2 for surround. I didn't want to buy a set of S8's used with no warranty, and I also shivered in my boots thinking about what the shipping co's would do to a big heavy tower like that, so I ordered them new from my dealer for my own safety and to give him some business, and all he could get was the .v3's.

I am extremely pleased with the .v3's - which are supposed to have more excursion output from not having air leaking past the phase plug on high excursion - which must be really really loud and likely in full range 2 channel use only, cause I don't see those drivers moving anywhere near something I would consider becoming a problem.

I guess I'll have to keep putting them to the test to see how thing go in the super ultra high SPL's to see if they explode :)

Otherwise, we EQ'd and setup all my 4 non equidistant subs again last night and ran some full range sweeps and this is how my results look in room.

This is without ARC running and before doing any room correction at all... Very very happy with the sound in there.

Very nice Warp. Did the neighbors come over to complain again? After seeing the three subs you already had, I can only imagine what it's like after adding the fourth!

Thanks partner, things are finally sounding pretty much perfect, they were a touch boomy until we got all 4 subs dialed in properly with EQ, phase, distance/delay and crossover for each individual sub... The DCX and REW were absolutely the perfect weapons to dial all this in for me... System is so incredibly effortless and clean...

Couldn't have done it without Nuance...
