Cancun for the holidays

I'm pretty excited - going to Cancun for the holidays (12/20 to 12/26).

It'll be good to leave these balmy 35° days behind and get the shorts back on for a few days (had to say that for the benefit of you guys in Minnesota).

So, are their any "must do - must see's" in Cancun?

Thanks,
Kurt

Here is a link of things to see and do in Cancun.

Just one piece of advice stay away from people who offer to take you to see a donkey show. A friend of mine was curious about it when his taxi driver suggested it,they got to the place that the show was to take place instead of a show he got beaten and robbed. just some friendly advice. sometimes the shows are legit and most of the time they are not.

We stayed at the Gala resort in playa del carmen in the Mayan Riveria a few years back . It was easy to distinguish who stayed in Cancun and who didn't on the flight back...:D Cucan is a major party town...have a great time!
Regards, Bill...BTW...here is my favorite line in spanish....dose cervesa por favor(sorry about the spelling)....;)

This will be my daughter's first time out of the country (cruises and Canada don't count), so it should be a real adventure for her (and us too))!

Do some research on the two locations I posted. Lots of things to do. Some of my favorites, fresh water caves, swim with dolphins, zip lines.

Also check out Chichen Itza, Tulum.

Have fun! The Isla de Mujeres is supposed to be nice. My wife and I had our back lifted there, so, be careful with your items! Only wish to have back the photos that were on the camera...argh!

The bus system runs constantly and the police pull over anyone they choose.

Otherwise, do see the ruins! They're supposed to be incredible!

How old is your daughter? When we researched this area the Gala resort really stood out because of the kids club and free day care. All I can say she hardly missed us which allowed us to enjoy our free time and even have some adult fun;). Good luck on your trip, we loved our time in Mayan Riveria & Cancun and would gladly go back.

Regards, Bill....:)

She is 12.
Do you mean adult fun as in XXX or as in paragliding, etc. that you wouldn't set a 5 year old up with?
Thanks!

Cancun Palace is where we are staying.
Thanks!
Good choice on the Palace resort. We had friends and family stay at the Moon Palace and they had a great time. I believe the Palace resorts allows access to all its surrounding resorts.

Both....lol...traveling with kids IMO is never easy. In our case she was 4yrs old and the daycare did a great job of keeping her busy and we could just be ourselves.
