You're going down...and I don't mean like last night. Okay, first like that, then something else.Oh, thats right, su madre rocks the 3 o'clock shadow..
My favorite part of this is that I understood completely what you were asking the first time I read it. It was only after reading on that I went back and re-read this that I got confused by what you were saying.Lets say you were to guess out of all the HT setup or being setup what be the % of those with such long run just a guess.
That's a good point but 2m is hardly long, let alone extremely long. 10m is long and 20 is extremely long. I'm helping a friend with a home theater and the 8m HDMI were just a little too dhort so he replaced them with 10m and the video quality is excellent on a 155" screen with a Panasonic projector and an anastigamatic lens.My question was how many HT setups did he think % wise was using extremely long cable runs, let's say more than 2ms.
I've used enough different lengths, I'm not sure I can keep track anymore. I think the last three in order were 15ft, 35ft, and now 25ft. The pricing was right about $15, $50, and $25, all from Monoprice. I do have at least one short BJC in the rig somewhere too.Good point, just in my setup 2ms is overkill for me.
2m is too long in a lot of systems- that's why I'd like to see more 1.5m cables. The extra length can put a lot of stress on the jack and that extra long plug can keep a piece of equipment from sliding all the way into a cabinet.Good point, just in my setup 2ms is overkill for me.
It's all about size with you, right?I've used enough different lengths, I'm not sure I can keep track anymore. I think the last three in order were 15ft, 35ft, and now 25ft. The pricing was right about $15, $50, and $25, all from Monoprice. I do have at least one short BJC in the rig somewhere too.
I'm connecting that to a JVC projector, in a room that resembles more of a batcave than not, have spent a few hours the last few days re-calibrating, also with my second bluray player, on a screen that is larger than highfigh's friend's.
The pic is gorgeous, and is honestly the most beautiful my friends, family, or I have ever seen. It looked just as great with the 35 footer, and that was in there for over a year, IIRC.
Read this AH test, and you can immediately see that price does not correlate with performance in the HDMI world.
Check out the Monster HDMI cable for $250 at 10m that fails 3 out of 5 tests. BTW, the 5th test is just for the hell of it: the 120hz signal that doesn't even exist for us in the AV world.
