Speaker wire length question

So i have decided to possibly change the layout of my living room.

My speakers are a few years old. Polk audio rm6600 satellites with psw350

I always had the subwoofer pretty close to my receiver due to the fact that i have to run wire to the subwoofer then the front speakers. The manual says not to set it up any other way.

Would it make a difference if i moved the sub farther away which would create long wire runs with this type of setup? So id say the total run would be 20-25 ft to the sub then about 20-25 back to the speakers. I hate the setup but until i get new speakers i cant do it any other way i don't think.

You should be running a decent quality RCA cable from the LFE output on your receiver to the LFE input on the subwoofer.

From what I gather, you're running speaker wire from the L/R channels on your receiver to the sub, then running wire to the speakers. This is not the ideal way of connecting a sub, and it does not take advantage of the LFE tracks on DVD's and such.

If you look on page 7 of your manual it shows the correct way to hook it up.

I agree with Shock;... but for some reason Polk doesn't like the RM6600 and PSW350 wired that way.
It specifically mentions NOT to wire the RM6600 that way
I'd inquire with Polk Support, as to why they don't recommend that wiring config in the owners manual.
