Hey guys,

I'm looking for a record with some chest pounding bass (ie:drum kick). Do you have any to recommand?

I've listen to one of my old Dave Matthews Band CD "Live at Luther College with Tim Reynold". For those of you who are looking for a great guitar CD, this one is jaw dropping!

Now it's time for some bass!

Great bass line all the way through. Not really low but has a nice kick.

I've just listen to the last track of Patricia Barber's "Café Blue" and it's WOW! What a great kick!

Might also check out Metora by Linkin Park - they have some pretty good bass hitting on the song Session 10

Check out Swoon by Silver Sun Pickups. Some of the songs seem pretty stripped down and are really let by the bass and drums. Give Panic Switch a listen:

It starts out big then strips down for the verse. It sounds really really really good on a capable system.

Sober... by Tool. Also I +1 on the Pork Soda album, also Sailing the seas of cheese for Sgt. Baker.

Stoosh by Skunk Anansie - the whole record pops.
And of course, anything by TOOL, but esp Undertow.
Dream Theater's last 4 records have some serious punch to them - something else worth looking into if you like Prog Metal.
Oh, and Mad Season has some pretty good bass on it - OK I'm done this time.

I usually don't post here but saw your subject line on the main page:D

You may want to try the Telarc 1812 Overture towards the end when the cannons are fired. Be very careful if your setup with 2 ch track goes to the sub. Lots been posted on that CD. Fundamental is at 5Hz:eek:
When I got my Cd some years back, I read the insert. Real period cannons used, progressively larger, more power, and windows were blown when they recorded the cannon sounds separately from the music. Be careful.

Walter, how did I know you were going to be the first one to reply in this thread?:D
Well my wife is out and the neighbors are gone and I just had a few heinkens and I got Ted Nugent "Strangehold" going at around 125db, I think my screen door just fell out.

This was one of the early all digital recordings by Telarc. Just be careful.:D

You may be able to pick it up used for a song and a dance:D

I meant "Stranglehold" not Strangehold. You see what a few beers do to me. Man am I week or what or is it just getting old.

Beer, Stranglehold (Teds finest work), 125db. It doesn't get much better than that.

Lying From You by Linkin Park (Meteora). I also love when the drums come in on Hotel California on the Hell Freezes Over CD (Eagles). It's not earth shattering bass, but it just sounds great.
