Me??...notta' chance!! The only reason I'll be going out this weekend is to play golf:D

My wife & daughter left the house before 4am this morning!! I only asked that she return home by 9am so I can play some golf........HEH When I return in 4hrs, they'll probably go out for another 5hrs:eek:

One thing that I have learned long ago after nearly 20 years of marriage is....NEVER shop with the wife. We do the shopping thing solo.........

My neighbors were not allowed to line up a walmut last night until the store closed for the night and there they sat all night to get a 50" sanyo plasma for 500.00 dollars or there abouts but I just don't feel the urgency to do such things, I can understand their thinking though as they just don't have alot...Oh on a side note they are still not home so I dont know if they even got anything or not.I tried to explain that the quality of that panel as opposed to putting out another two or three hundred but they looked at me with laser eyes like they were demented or something I just backed away very careful like...

That sounds a lot like a guy that got interviewed on the news last night. He was camping outside of Best Buy for the opening sales, then said that he was going to go straight home and shop the online deals because, "I need to save as much money as I can."

[RANT]Here's a thought - stop buying stuff that you don't need! I've had it with people that complain about not having any money, but they've got far more luxury items than I do.[/RANT]

Yeah saw a dude driving a honda fit with one of those sanyos hog tied to the top. Seriously, the box was bigger than the roof! It's just sad state when people don't have much, but have to have a big screen tv.

I almost died laughing to myself while at Sears. Some bought a samsung lcd hdtv then threw a fit when the salesperson suggested he buy an hdmi cable and told him he needed a hi def cable box from comcast to get hd. Seriously, the guy chewed him out for trying for trying to scam him on a cable and telling him to get crap he didn't need. "The tv is hd, so I don't need no special cable or comcast cable box, the tv is hd, I can just screw in the cable I already have!!" LOL, some people just know it all and you can't tell em otherwise!

My GF and her mom and sister all went at 4am. She called me from the store and ran the list of cheap bluray movies and if I wanted any. Then I went back to sleep. I find Amazon has all the deals the stores has and I just ordered a couple things yesterday, without the need of freezing and waking up early.

Last year my GF and some lady got into punches because this lady tried to cut in line (my GF was 2nd in line) and this lady tried to "sneak in" because of a limited supply on something or other (I was half listening as men always do) anyway security was called and hauled this lady out of the store.

First off women shoppers are brutal and two never knew my GF could throw some wicked punches.

Now if she would just hurry up and get home and cook my breakfast. ;)

That's what drives economies now days, people buying stuff they can't afford. You ever see the projects? People on wellfare with ****ing TVs, cable, X-boxes. Wii's and ****.

I could work an extra three hours and make more money than I would save standing in line.

I appreciate people watching what they pay (I know I do), but, if you can't spring for an extra 200 bucks for a LCD you probably shouldn't buy it. If you just want to stand in line to save some money and have some fun with friends/family screwing around doing something different than you normally do, then that's cool...

A few years back I stood in line all night for my Panny Plasma and I had a great time with the people there. It really was an experience that I am glad I tried. That being said would I do it again????.................HELL NO!!!!!!!! Still got the Plasma and it still looks fantastic.:)

My 2 cents:
My wife is insane....she came home with two 32" LCD's & two Blu-Ray players for the kids. Yes, they were cheap, but my kids are only age 7 & 12 for GODS sake!!!

We sort of talked about it beforehand, but I hoped that I talked her out of it. I tried to explain that the initial hardware cost is only one piece of the total cost, but it didn't work. I still don't know what I want to do as far as setting up the kids rooms. I have a 5 L&B dish now, but I'm 99% certain it will NOT support the new TV's. Getting them all hooked up may turn into a costly & major Direct TV overhaul. I'm pretty sure 4 of the 5 L&Bs are in use now.....(our 2-DVR's use two each)

So far I have my daughter all set up....she's up and running with STD cable and she's watching my "Iron Man" BD as we speak in her room.......LOL

A funny sidenote:
I've paid for STD-TV cable (19 channels) for 10yrs and never once used it!!
Bundling it with Computer cable is cheaper than buying computer cable alone. Go figure? At least now the TV cable will get it's first use!! (albeit low def) Her bedroom was already wired, so that worked out good.

I'm not sure what I will do with my sons room because his room isn't pre-wired. I'll get his 32" LCD and BD player up and running for now. My wife is back out.......shopping to buy a wall-mount for his LCD and a couple HDMI cables. I figure wall mounting his TV is the only way it has a chance to survive.

Does anyone else have some shopping stories to share?

Buckeye nut the dish doesnt matter, D* will just install a larger splitter to hook up more TV's (cost about 100.00) and of course the extra 5.00/month for each box and the cost of the boxes.

My wife and I spent plenty on TV/HT related electronics this weekend.

The final tally since Wed 11-25:
1 Yamaha RX-V3900
Two 32" LCD's for the kids. (walmart specials)
Three Blu-ray players (two walmart specials + 1 from BB for me)
......not to mention other crap not related to the above.

My kids are SOOO LUCKY!!
My 7yr old sons room.......

I connected my GEN1 Samsung BD (above) as a temp in my sons room while I played around with and familiarized myself with one of the new ones in the MANCAVE. When it was all said and done, I bought a 3rd BD player so we could all have new ones:p The new ones functioned and loaded much quicker than my old dinosaur-Samsung....that I had to have one too!!!!

My 12yo daughters room.

My daughter is at that age where she has lots of sleepovers. She used to have one of those small TV-DVD combo's.....she used it all the time too!! She said she's watched "Twilight" more than 100 times....LOL She'd have friend on sleepovers and they'd watch movies..etc, etc...She's sooo stoked to have friends come over now to watch movies on her new TV...LOL
