Plazma w/ component video -- rolling scan lines

I have lines that scroll from bottom to top spaced about 2/3 way through the screen when viewing the Plazma TV. It takes 4 or 5 seconds for the line to move through the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a component video connection as the TV does not support HDMI.

What types of components (TV, DVD player)are you using?

Try swapping the cables to see if it improves to start.

You either have bad shielding or a ground loop- most likely a ground loop.

Thanks to both replies-- I will try new cables before I look any further

I don't know that you need a new cable, but try a different one (if you have something). Even coax with F-RCA adapters will work fine if there's no other problem. Even if you only have one piece of coax that's long enough, if you have F-RCA adapters, plug it into the green jacks- that will give you a picture on most TVs with component video because the green carries the synch signal. If you have bars, they'll still show up. Also, coax works fine for component, composite, digital audio, analog audio, two can be used for S-Video (with an adapter), and can be used for HDMI with baluns.

The cables in place now are coax. I will try another cable tonight and see what happens.

thanks,
