One of the coolest things ever done by a band - I wanted to wait until the CD came out next Tuesday because of YouTube's sub-par audio quality, but I can take it I guess - the suspense was too much. Anyway, you can hear a lot of Zeppelin-esque, Nirvana-esque, and Queens of the Stone Age-esque sounds from John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl, and Josh Homme, respectively, but it is something totally new, and, IMO, amazing. I preordered the CD a while ago, but I might have to buy the LP as well - along with a turntable to play it!

I saw them at a little show in Boston in early October and they were incredible so I have been waiting thirstily for something more than a single or snippets from the studio.

I obviously love it, but I will let you all decide for yourselves. I am assuming since it is on the official TCV youtube page and they allow embedding, that posting the songs here is completely okay. Enjoy.

I don't think I am going to make the submission date - they tell me everyone has a crap-load of revising to do after defense, and I am scheduled to defend the day before it is supposed to be submitted.

That said, I finished a chapter today -that's 2 down. My results chapter is 3/4 done and my conclusions are 1/2 done. Even if I do finish by the end of this week with a draft, get one revision down before I have to give it to my committee, which I can do, I might not make it just because of when my defense is scheduled.

...and just so you know, these headphones that I ordered are going to increase my productivity by 39.74%. My Shure IEM's were starting to give me headaches and hurty ears, which decreased my productivity by 23.85%. The supposed awesomeness of the new headphones will be the cause of the additional productivity increase...

I just put those suckers on the credit card. Thats like free money, isn't it? I don't see why you couldn't do similar.

If they need a headphone amp to work well, I am screwed though.

Seriously though, I finally got refunded my summer tuition eff-up thing which I had chocked up as a loss, so it payed for the phones without any obvious sting to the bank...or at least that is how I am rationalizing it.
