Those egress levers are really hard to pull as they are usually secured with safety wire. He must have REALLY yanked on it.

They aren't that difficult to pull. The seat in the PC-7 is a variant what we use in some training aircraft and probably requires about 30 pounds of upward force to actuate; maybe a little more, maybe less.

LOL...I had to google PC-7 because I'm not familiar with the airframe....I'll admit at first glance (didn't even read the article :)) I thought it was an F-16 or F-15 that they were referring to....lol
