I just ordered an AVR-4310CI for a super good price and from an authorized dealer, so I thought I would share.

I searched through Bing Shopping (I registered for cashback quite a while ago) and I ordered from Electronics Expo (seventh down on the search page) for $1293 with free shipping, a huge coupon code discount, and Bing Cashback. Their site looks nice but it is slow and the add to cart button adds 2 quantity so you have to fix that before you check out, but they are listed on Denon's site as an authorized dealer, and their reseller ratings aren't too bad.

+$1998 regular price
-$636.12 with LSVRR01 coupon code
-$68 and change through Bing Cashback (5%)

=$1293, + or - some change with free ground shipping

Hopefully - then I can be jealous of you, which is just how I roll ;). Thanks for the congrats!

When I sold my 3808 I had an income and hoped to replace it with the 4810, but those university finance types decided they didn't feel like paying me anymore. At this point, I really wanted to wait so I could afford the 4810 but I would have had to buy something cheap to get me by until I could swing the price after my job starts, and I am not good at making sacrifices - I hope that just means I will have to wait a little longer for the 4810 and may be able to choose between it and the AVP-CIX by that time. :D

Rear surrounds are overrated anyway. I think I will go 5.1+width channels with DSX, if I can find some cheap Paradigm Mini Monitor v.3's or similar, since I won't be buying all new speakers for a while either - even though I really want to. :)

Do you have previous experience with them? How reliable they are? Though it is always listed as a third party seller on amazon.com.

I found one this fall on the 4810. I received an e-mail today from the same retailer for a coupon just for this weekend: COLDAYSALE is the coupon and it takes off $745 from the Denon AVR 4810 receiver. And with free shipping, this comes out to $2253.61.
Seriously...

I wish you would not have told me that! :D

Well, everything worked out great. I received the 4310 today, and I am excited to see how many improvements have been made since the 3808, which I will surely talk about once I post pictures in my HT thread.

Electronics Expo wasn't bad, and they weren't amazing, but the price certainly was. I only got an order confirmation, but never a shipping notification. I started to worry and sent them an email on Monday, and on Tuesday morning they gave me the tracking number for the AVR, which had actually shipped out very fast - the day after I ordered it.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the packing job, especially compared to when I got my 3808 from 6ave - it was double boxed but only padded by a very small amount of that brown paper wadded up on one side. That said, it survived the shipping just fine - the Denon packing does a pretty good job of protecting the unit anyway. I am also a strong believer in requiring a signature for higher-dollar items, which they did.

The bottom line is that there are much worse places to order a receiver from, and my small concerns were certainly worth the money I saved on the receiver!

Good to hear. My Escient MX-111 was packaged the same way from Vann's.

I set up a price alert on the 4810 @ $2200 on Electronics Expo yesterday and received an email a little while later saying they could do that.:D Unfortunately I'm not ready to jump on it until next spring.:(

The 4810 is $3000 with the summer code coupon.

How did you get it at that price ?

I just went through and added it to the cart then applied the code. I just tried again and they seem to be out of stock or their system is flaky. If you really want it I'd give them a call.

Denon 4XXX owners - do you feel the need for power amp

I was wondering if any of the 4XXX owners feel the need for extra power by adding an amp. Is the amp section good enough for a 16x20 size family room?

Assuming you have <10' ceilings there really is no "need" for a separate amp.

I paid $1200.00 with shipping for my 4310ci from 6ave.com...2 months ago. I know they are doing a name your price. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get it for less.
