Panasonic BD60 questions

Howdy! I have a couple of rookie blu-ray player questions that may be unique to my player (bought a few weeks ago)...

1) In attempting to use our new BD60 to play CD's, the player shuts off if I turn the TV (panasonic plasma) off or change the input on the TV. Is there some sort of power saver function telling the BD player to shut down when the TV input signal changes? Is there a way to prevent it from happening? I couldn't find anything in the BD player menus.

2) We rented "Bolt" for the kids this weekend, but it would not play. The disc appeared to be in perfect shape. I have updated my firmware to V2.1 within the last few days, so I don't think that is an issue. Is there Blu-Ray material out there that a BD60 just can't handle? Or is it more likely that there was some sort of flaw in the disc?

Thanks!!!

1) Shuts OFF or just pauses for a second and then keeps playing? Do you have a Panasonic TV also? Some will communicate with each other and may turn off connected sources as well.

2) I'd do a search and see if others have had problems with the same disc. I did a quick search and found this to be a known problem disc. It is supposed to be fixed in 2.1, though nobody confirmed that. It did say you need to have a memory stick installed for the BD Live features to work.

Other problem discs:

BOLT
/ Disney: The disc will play the promo's & trailers but then it fails back the 'no disc screen', no main playback menu.

WALL*E
BEDTIME STORIES
/ Disney: BD-Live not available in my area?? Does not say can not connect or player not compatable??

BANGKOK DANGEROUS
PUNISHER: WAR ZONE
/ Lionsgate; MoLog will not load, just get loading screen for over 30 minutes before ejecting disc.

THE MUMMY III: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR,
HELLBOY II:THE GOLDEN ARMY,
THE INCREDIBLE HULK(2008)
WANTED
/ Universal: Does not see the machine as profile 2.0 / BD-Live compatable.

HANCOCK,
STRIPPER ZOMBIES
DON'T MESS WITH ZOHAN
CASINO ROYALE: COLLECTOR'S EDITION
/ SONY: Can not connect to the Sony BD-Live feature server.

Hi. For the first question, John is right - odds are high that you have the power control turned on for your TV because that will shut your blu-ray player off when you shut off the TV. I own a BD60 and a TC-P50G10. I can't remember if the setting is on the TV or blu-ray player (or both), but I know it's there. I can help you more with that if you want.

That's crazy Adam. I'll avoid Panny tv remotes.

I would expect the feature to be in the TV, but I've seen this with Sony players/TVs also. I have a Sharp and the Oppo; no problems here :D

It's actually a feature. :) It allows someone to power off the disc player without having to push another button. It can be easily disabled.

I could swear Samsung does something similar when using their HTIBs and other Samsung products
