Sub is localizable.

That's the reason I just put out for sub #2, so I could get both channels equi-distant from my ears. Having one sub that is off center really jacks things up for me in my music system. I had to do that with the HT setup years ago, actually having to use 3 subs triangulated to the listening position. My hearing situation has cost me alot of money.

I suspect that this may be the case. I am one of those unfortunate few, and I can tell you that it does suck. A second sub placed in an opposite corner will help.

Can you afford another sub, in order to get rid of speaker stands, and place the bookshelves atop them?

If impossible, perhaps a lower xover point, and steeper xover while you're at it. What is your xover point, and what is doing the BM at the moment?

The xover point is 80Hz. I lowered it to 60 but it didn't seem to help, and actually made the suckout I have at 63Hz a whole lot worse. The second SVS will ship out on Mon for delivery by Fri. Fortunately, I got the sale price, and the repeat customer discount, so it won't b that bad. Plus the old lady is in Egypt until next Saturday, so she won't even know about it (since she never goes into my sound room) until it's been there awhile. It's something I was going to do anyway, and since SVS is closing them out I figured I'd better do it before I couldn't.

Dude, I'd love to, but that would b way too much for my tiny little room. I think I might b way overdoing it with the second SB-12. I dunno we'll see. If nothing else I should b able to address some of the room mode issue I've been having. I hope, anyway.
