It's started and officially here. The Spurs look very improved and ready to challenge the Lakers for the Western Conference. The Celtics look like the team to beat in the east. It should be a fun season. Not sure if anyone here are even NBA fans. I thought I'd give it a shot if there was any interest.

Hey...we beat the Cav's too. There are some hoops fans but I think most of them are reserved for the college game.

Basketball is my favorite sport. I used to follow college a long time ago, but only pro now. May I ask what the Spurs have done to improve? If it's Jefferson, IMO, he is not enough of an improvement to challenge, and has just an average skill set for a Western Conference starter IMO. (If he's even a starter). Age and wear are still factors for that team, as it is for the Celtics as well.

FWIW, I think I might be the only Laker fan in existence who has great respect for the Spurs and Jazz organizations. I like systems that are well thought out for the talent at hand, and not stupid-run-n-gun, defense-what's-that basketball (which has NEVER won btw). Duncan is a class act, one of my favorite of all time, and I also had yet another rare opinion that he was the best basketball player in the world during his prime, during the "Garnett vs Duncan" days. Garnett wins one vs one, but if I get first pick I pick the latter.

Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia already left Cleveland. I doubt Lebron is going to be there much longer. He wants a better team, because the one he's got is still not good enough.

The problem we had last year were with injuries and depth. Blair looks to be a great addition off the bench and Manu appears healthy. Duncan is a shadow of his former self. Jefferson is on the best team with the best coach he's ever had so he just might develop into more. Still Chicago beat them last night taking a bit of my early enthusiasm. Still with the added depth and talent they have the best shot at the Lakers IMO.

The league is very deep again with talent. So many teams could be in the mix.

I think Lebron goes to the Knicks.
