I remember the 2007 Saints season opener against the Colts. It was tied 10-10 at halftime I think - then in the second half Peyton absolutely lit up the Saints defense. I imagine that he looked at some pictures at halftime and made some adjustments.

The reason I bring it up is that I saw some Youtube videos of Peyton on the sidelines towards the end of the 3rd quarter talking to a receiver he just threw a TD pass to. They were overhead laughing at the Saints defense - he kept doing the same thing and they kept making zero adjustments, so he just ate them up. It happened the rest of the game.

That was tough. Seeing an opposing team actually laughing at the schemes they're facing.

The D those two years under Gary Gibbs was absolutely awful. Never made adjustments, played soft, kept getting burned. Eesh.

How the hell is no one talking football today?!?!?

I know Maze and his buddies are bummed about the Giants losing, but come on.

Drew Brees had another good game, so jonny must be thrilled. But can someone please tell me how the hell the Raiders beat the Eagles?!?!? Where's Sawzalot???

Can't wait to watch my Bolts whoop up on the Donkeys on MNF. They won't be undefeated after tonight!

Any given Sunday is often forgotten by analysts.

It was a great day for the Cowboys since all 3 divisional rivals lost. Philly and New York aren't as good as people seemed to think. But the season has a lot of games left.

I think the game tonight will be close, but the bolts have to win if they want the division.

Sorry Darien, my butt is still sore from the beat-down that the Saints gave the G-men yesterday :eek::eek:. I think the Giants defense may have subbed in high school players while they all went to the movies!

The only solace I had yesterday was seeing the Eagles lose to the Raiders... not enough to make me forget the sting of the early game, but I was smiling for most of the evening :)

Beat down

how about those Titans, talk about rolling over by losing 59-0 to the Pats. BTW do you guy's realize that Vince Young going 0-2 for zero yards and a INT had a better stat line than Kerry Collins who was 2-12 for -7yds with a pick! I know the weather was bad but did you see Brady's numbers!
Thank god my loyalty ceased from the time they moved from Houston.

LDT had his first decent game this season last night, but I have no idea why Sproles was totally shut out of the offense. I think it's been pretty well proven by the top teams over the last 3-5 years that using 2 RBs (particularly when they run different styles) is much more to your advantage than sticking to one feature back.

I agree with the 2 runnings backs sharing the load especially with a aging and injury prone player like LT, there are exceptions to the 2 back style when you have young talented running backs like Adrian Peterson that have both speed and power.

If you remember on the first offensive drive, LT was not given the ball on 3rd and goal and it looked from what the broadcast was showing that he was having a hissy fit on the sideline. Not sure what was going on but Sproles needs to get his touches.

PS: Mazer you ned to post a picture of a distraught Norv Turner on the sidelines with his head in his hands for our boy Darien :p

Since I was curious about this, I checked out Chester Taylor's game logs for the first 6 weeks of the season- it seems even the Vikings are being wary of how many touches AP gets. Taylor has averaged about 11 touches per game this year (7 rushes and 4 catches), while trying to keep AP's load to a reasonable level. AP has only carried the ball more than 20 times in half the games so far this year, and he's pretty much non-existent in the passing game.

This type of strategy will keep AP fresh for the latter part of the year, and most likely lengthen his career.

Defenses must be doing something that makes them want to throw the ball because that is exactly what they have been doing as of late and it has been very successful. Yeah, Chester Taylor usually comes in on 3rd downs in passing situations and also during the game to give him a breather so he gets his fair share of time in the game but I would not call it a dual running back attack. It was awesome that long run Peterson pulled off when he cut the run to the backside and zoomed down the side line. The guy is soooooo good. I think he managed around 140 yards this Sunday.

All right, let me drag my *** in here and take my lumps.

When I left the gym last night, VJ had just scored and it looked like the Bolts were finally starting to get things rolling. I watched a little more of the game before leaving for sword class. I fast forwarded to the end when I got home and was sickened. At least I didn't have to sit through the whole 3 hours.

I guess the bottom line is that the defense doesn't work without big Jamal Williams in the middle. Even worse is that his backup Ryon Bingham is also out, so we're trying to play NT by committee. Obviously the Bolts don't have the depth or talent to compensate for the amount of injuries we have this year. Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that the Donkeys would be 6-0 and the Bolts would be 2-3?!?!?

I had such high hopes for this season. Man, I gotta just stop watching football. I'm tired of the constant letdowns. Wake me up when it's next season.

Um dude you are overreacting your team is only 1/2 game out of the playoffs with a nearly cake schedule. You have 5 hard games left which means you at worst will be 8-8.(pitts, denver, baltimore are good teams this year only loses)

I doubt you lose all 5(Denver, Giants, Philly(home), Dallas, Cincinnati(home)). And if you were to win the 2 home ones you go 10-6 with a good chance to make the playoffs.

You have had a hard start, but the end will be much easier than the beginning. ;) Next week you get the chiefs with a healthy LT.:D
