my svs pc2-nsd walks, a lot. I'm really pushing this sub with some music and it is constantly walking on me. Sure I'm having a hard time breathing because the thumping in my chest is crushing because of how stupidly powerful this sub is, but how can I get this beast to stop walking everywhere? Its sitting on its baseplate but the baseplate is sitting on laminated concrete floors so there's pretty much 0 cushion.

One more thing, during a part in a particular song, the bass hits very hard for a second. So hard in fact that I got on the ground to watch the extension of the woofer over and over and it looks to me that the sub is actually coming off the ground about a millimeter. Noticeable enough that when I saw it my eyes got really wide and then I couldn't stop laughing.

Go to two minutes in, wait for the pause and then watch your subwoofer, you will know what I'm talking about.

So how can I get this sub to stay put?

I suspect that it's too loud, but that's just me. Are you trying to go deaf? Seriously?

Whatever it is sitting on will have to be more resilient, in order to absorb that pulsation. It certainly can't sound very good if it's bouncing around like that. But, if you have it that loud, I have to wonder if you really care how it sounds. :D

Have you heard of the Auralex SubDude? It's a platform for mounting a subwoofer, in order to reduce vibrations being transmitted to the surrounding surfaces.

Otherwise, wedge a 2 x 4 between the sub and the ceiling. Sorry, I got nothin' else...

1) Weigh it down.
2) Bolt it down.
3) Put something under it o absorb the pulse.

Turn it down? Does not compute. Are you are girl? Just kidding. Anyways... For 50 bucks the SubDude is a great buy for any sub and will totally solve your problem. In fact when you get it you will be able to turn your sub up even more. CAN YOU DIG IT!

Are you 15 years old? Just kidding. I wasn't a girl the last time I checked. I like to crank it up at times, but within reason, I guess. I've reached the age where such things as preserving my hearing have some importance for me. Call me crazy....

Lucky for me Sweetwater is 10 minutes away from where I work and they had a subdude in stock. I just went and came back and put my sub on it. Immediate results. Problem solved! Excuse me while I go deaf.

What was even cooler was that when they gave me the bag with my subdude in it, they put a handful of candy in the bag too. HOW COOL IS THAT?

I wonder if they put the candy in the bag because it is close to Halloween or because you are a big kid lol Either way I am jealous:)

Wow, that was easy! Problem solved in 3 hours. If only they were all that easy to address.:):)

Would putting aurelex speakerdudes under my bookshelves that sit on my desk give any better performance like the immediate results i got from the subdude? these bookshelves even though they weigh 12ish pounds they still vibrate my desk. they sound phenomenal already, but gene was saying something about putting them on stands and they would disappear sonically. would speakerdudes be the same thing?

Just to clarify, I had to use the comfort mat between my sub and the Gramma Pad.

Yes, the Auralex MoPAD will work great for isolating your speakers. With a speaker as light as yours, Blu-Tac may work just as well.

Any isolation from a structure will tighten up a speaker. The effects are pretty obvious to my ears. Having them on a desk will create unwanted resonances. It's like playing a drum on your desk. ;) You can imagine how bad that woudl sound. However if you put a pad on it to absorb the shock then it doesn't transfer to the structure. What's even better is if you put them on stands and get further isolation. Acoustics make a huge difference on sound. I've heard sony speakers sound decent with excellent placement and good acoustics. I've heard B&W ruined by the inverse. Of course in ideal conditions the B&W will smoke the Sony speakers. But the point is good placement can make an ok speaker good.
