Integra DTC-9.8 bass management.

I've been reading the manual for the new Integra DTC-9.8 Pre/Pro and I see that it has a 5 ch subwoofer Eq. It is +/- 6dB @ 25 Hz, 40 Hz, 63 Hz, 100 Hz, or
160 Hz, so I guess 4 usable channels.

Is it likely that using this and the parametric Eq on the PB12-Plus will give enough flexibility in tuning bass response that I could get equal or similar results to the SMS-1 without dropping another $500 on the SMS-1?

I said I was done equipment shopping, but for some unknown reason, I'm still looking. I'm just wondering what I might expect from the bass management of the Integra combined with SVS' PEQ.

Just to go back and answer an old unanswered question, Yes, the combination of the Integra's EQ and SVS' parametric EQ can provide enough flexibility to make the sub sound pretty good. I've been running the system as in the post above for several months now and it sounds fine. If I were to be picky, it's not as fine tuned as using the SMS-1 but it's perfectly acceptable and I have a really bad room for bass response.

Or perhaps just sick. My internal medicine specialist told after all the tests I've had that I have a small hernia that I'm going to have to live with unless it gets worse. Now that I know what it is and how to mitigate its effects, I'm feeling much better.

I feel your pain. Hernia's are not fun. My bummer was they found mine during a regular checkup and as soon as I knew I had it I aggravated it. I now have surgery on the 19th of October.

I feel your pain. Hernia's are not fun. My bummer was they found mine during a regular checkup and as soon as I knew I had it I aggravated it. I now have surgery on the 19th of October.

Yeah, it's no fun at all. Good luck with the surgery though. I'm sure it will be nice to feel well again.

Well, that's Canadian medicine for you. So far, they haven't found a hernia with low resolution tests, ultrasounds or x-rays. The next step is to do a cat scan but they are expensive and probably booked for months in advance, probably over a year for my low priority case. So I live with it until it gets worse and warrants more medical urgency. In the meantime, the doctor's own options for treatment are limited.

Salmon oil and prune juice. Gotta keep the pipes flowing smoothly. Any backup the pressure builds to uncomfortable levels.
