LOL. I know there is already a thread to capture this year's season...but in my opinion, the Lions finally winning a game deserves it's own thread!

As far as I am concerned we have auomatically had a "winning" season!

Feels good to be a Lions fan...I know it is a long road ahead of us...but we REALLY needed a win.

the Lions are heading the right direction. Stafford has great potential and I think they will be contenders in a couple years.

I"m glad they beat the Redskins.

Congrats Lions Fans :)
I hope they finally get over the hurdle and continue to play competitive football.
I think the team has what it takes to make it happen and who will take their place at the bottom, Cleveland maybe ?

Jail to the Redskins

It definitely sucks to be a Redskins fan . I didn't watch yesterday because I could sense it coming.

The problem is not the coach. It's the entire team management, from top down. The owner, Dan Snyder, is an egotistic kid who has more money than sense. The so-called General Manager (who has no meaningful football experience) was hired by the owner to be his yes-man. Guess who makes all the player-personnel decisions? The aging and often injured offensive line can't protect the quarterback and there have been no new linemen acquired by draft or free-agent in the past several years. I feel sorry for the competent quarterback who never has time to make a pass.

There were signs in the stadium I saw sometime last year that said:

Keep the Coach - Fire Dan Snyder

Unfortunately, owners don't become free agents. I'd even trade him for Jerry Jones of Dallas. Maybe we can arrange an Alien Abduction .

Redskins fail Portis.
It is a crying shame, to have that running back going at half speed because there is no team built around him.
Could you even imagine what he would do with a young hungry line, I would love to see him in Philly with Westbrook banged up and all, however Shady looks good too.( LeSean McCoy)

Yeah don't think he will make it through the week.
If Dan Snyder fires Jim Zorn after less than 2 seasons, no coach will want the job. Snyder has already run through 5 coaches in the roughly 10 years since he bought the Redskins.

Anyone know how to contact the Aliens to arrange an abduction? They can probe any orifice they want - Redskins fan won't mind. We might even volunteer to hold him down.

I’m not able to contact them anymore since I’ve been wearing my stylish, shiny aluminum foil hat :D

BUT – speaking about running backs (not to mention an aging QB) who need a GOOD offensive line, ya know, one that does their job & doesn’t just stand around…Hello - Brad! Are you blind?

Good on ya for having the sack to admit that you're a Lions fan. :D

I agree that Stafford seems to have a lot of potential. He's definitely got a hell of an arm. He just needs to shake the rookie jitters.

LOL. I've been a Lions fan all my life. I have skin that is so thick that it would take an insult shot from a 50 cal to even get me to notice it. I know better than to outright cheer them on all the time as it just makes me look like a loony and it could end up getting me committed...however, I couldn't stand by silently when we finally broke that streak!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what can be done with Stafford. It's the first time in a long time that I have felt there might be a future worth paying attention to (as far as the NFL is concerned).

Actually, the Lion's first win was getting rid of Matt Millen. As a Packer fan, I was disappointed by this. No guarantee of two easy wins every year.

Speak of the devil...was that Matt Millen I saw on MFB. Can you believe out of all the guys on the panel, he actually took the Panthers...;)

Detroit should've run him out of town years ago!

I took the Panthers to cover the spread. 7 or 9 points, can't recall.
I don't the the 'Girls are going to live up to their expectations this year.

But Millan should have never been given the job. He wasn't qualified for it.
Blame that on Lion's management.

They have no expectations this year.

Everyone thinks they aren't even a playoff team except a handful of fans. I think they'll make the playoffs because they ditched the problem players, but I'm a Dallas homer. What happened to the Panthers?
