Sub location. It isn't working out for me.

I can't find a good spot to put my subwoofer. It seems no matter where I put it I either hear the sub too much on either my left or right.

I have a fairly small room around 10ft x11ft x 7ft (770^3 ft) wide.

What are some of the tips/tricks I can try as far as sub placement. I'm starting to run out of ideas .

Front of the room or right behind you and get it calibrated. Are you using a receiver or did you pick up just an amp (Amp100)? 10x11 may be hard to get great bass in since it is relatively square, and if you sit by the wall, bass is going to either be over boosted (corners) or possibly have big dips (middle).

I was able to pick up an Amp100 for $50 used off Craigslist shortly after our last discussion.

Oh yeah, I have four B2030p's powered by two AMP100's.
They sound great! ;)

The problem with my setup is that I'm using this with a desktop instead of a television. So I'm forced to sit only a few feet from the front. Which is obviously not ideal. I'm thinking about getting a MUCH smaller desk and putting it somewhere in the middle of my room. But it will look really tacky and be very inconvenient.

I just bought an SPL meter from Amazon.com and plan to try to calibrate my sub/speakers. With the EQ on my sound card in conjunction with the SPL meter should I be able to adequately configure my settings?

You could get a remote for your computer and a projector for your display. :D

You can pick up an EP719 of ebay and get a square trade warranty for it.

I know it's not for everyone, but you're a tech guy.

It may not be much more convenient, but when I was in my 11x12 bedroom. I setup the system at a 45degree angle in the corner and that helped the sound quite a bit, but I eventually took the sub out because it was a bit too boomy in there.

I don't know about a projector. The biggest screen size I would need would be around 50in. For me, projectors don't seem worth the investment unless I plan on going bigger...

...Right? :p

You could try a different crossover setting. If it is too high the sub can become much more localized.
