LOL! This really is my new setup at the new place. We have pretty much no furniture there, so everything is floor bound at this time. The place needs work so this is my "working on the house" system. It does fairly well filling most of the house, and I'll be honest, for what it is, it actually sounds pretty decent. It isn't a critical listening rig for sure, but it more than gets the job done.

Talk about low budget! It is my Craigslist special: Audiosource Amp100 $50 Cerwin Vega speakers $0.00 and my ~10yr old Sony DVD player that doesn't even play MP3 or burned CDs (found it in the closet). Wired up with "in the box" RCA cable and generic 16awg hardware store speaker wire :D Both speakers are angled up via the ever useful algebra books.

More on the house later.

Bookshelf speakers not book speakers!:) and wouldn't geometry books be better at getting the proper angle???:p

LMAO. I was going to stack up the books and make some "book shelves" out of them. The books were left in the house and there was only one geometry book :D There was a trig book as well, and some advanced differential equation books (the guy worked at NASA).

Fun little system. You gotta have tunes while you work!

So I take it you are still living in your present house while you get the new one ready? Why the move?

I'll be doing the exact same thing either later today or tomorrow, setting up some speakers for while I'm working on the house I'm moving into. I'll have to post some pics.

The kitchen is to the left and there is a curved peninsula, so I guess that is why that one ended up sort of out in space. The one on the opposite end of the room is closer to the wall.

Yup. This one occasionally won't start up a disc, but you just eject and restart and it goes usually. I have a ES changer and my 2900 still (no luck selling it) but I didn't need anything special for all that painting that we will be doing :)

Definitely, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I would guess that the house was originally built with a bunch of small rooms and somewhere down the line, they removed a wall during a renovation project leaving the vent behind. If you lift the paneling or the carpet, you may see evidence of that.

The property looks awesome. Good luck with the transition.

My temporary house renovation system. Right now it's in the garage because all I'm doing is moving stuff into the garage and the storage room (not moving hardly anything into the house until the carpet guys come).

Once I get everything moved in it'll move into the house. First two jobs are painting and demoing a wall that splits the basement in two. Then I'm planning on refacing the fireplace and doing some tile work.

B&W 602 S3 and Denon AVR/DVD.

Nice little set up. I dig the Cerwin Vegas. So is your main equipment still back at the other place?

What kinda work are you doing on the place John?
Priming, painting, ripping out most of the carpet and replacing with laminate, any minor maintenance such as rescreening the window screens inside. Stuff like that. Outside will be getting an all new deck later. Probably not going to demo anything, but the existing deck that went about 1/3 of the way around the house had to come down because it was in bad shape. The main thing right now is fire clearing 100ft around the house required by law.

Yes, the regular systems are still at home. This setup here will eventually move to the garage.
