I'm currently playing violin in quartet and duo (same cellist). All of the members are accomplished musicians, but most of them are not playing their primary instruments, and so we are still pretty mediocre for now, but we're improving. (One has degrees in piano performance, another in classical guitar, and another in composition). Biggest pieces we're working on are a Haydn quartet, as well as a couple of Contrupuncti from the Art of Fugue. Besides a slew of easier ditties for future gigs.
My cellist and I did a wedding gig just a month ago, where the groom was Scottish, and so we were wearing kilts. We've been dubbed as Duo Commando.
And the name is still sticking! lol
I have a master's degree in music performance. It has not been my profession in many years.
