I guess I'm a very private person. I just don't see the benefit to volunteering information that I've fought so hard to keep private.

Seriously, I have no life.

It's not as if you need to lay all of your cards out- just include what you want and leave the rest private. I have almost no private info on my Facebook profile and I only use it for people to find me if we haven't been in contact for a long time. I got rid of my land line and cell phone numbers aren't as easy to find so,....

To me, life is a moving target and about change so people from my past should remain there. I also feel that people should be out doing new things and meeting new people physically instead of virtually. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just not for me.

Just don't tell any girls that. The "read their interests or figure them out from their pictures/comments" and then find common ones or, if she is really hot and you must bang her , even sink low enough to wikipedia stuff, is working pretty well.

Or, even more commonly, if you were to ****ed up or just ADD to remember where their "internship" was or "where they are from" and so forth, or worse can't remember which one is which or any of their friends names, Facebook is the saver.

Yeah, I sink that low. *shrug* :D

The time we spend on AV oriented sites and forums is not much different than the time spent by folks on social networking. The fact that there is no theme or specific purpose to social networking does not make it pointless.

I do not participate in any form of social networking. The "old fassioned" ways of keeping in touch work for me just fine.

Mafia Wars makes Facebook worth it for me. My wife loves Facebook and we started out chatting on it(after we met in person she stalked me on facebook)

So Midnight has a good point as always. Facebook, The telephone and everything else is useful for one thing. ;)

I think FB is retarded for 90% of it's use. My neigbor, a stay at home wife, constantly posts about needing a maid, that she doesn't have any time for anything, yet she posts about 30 meaningless things per day. Perhaps, that's why she has no time. I don't know why you need to be on Facebook with people you regularly interact with. That's kinda of retarded and a waste of time. Facebook for kids, is even more stupid and I just can't understand why parents give in to their kids. Even the best kids eventually get pissed, or experience something that should be kept private or within close circles, yet in the heat of the moment, they make statements or tell stories they often soon regret.

I think Facebook is a great way for people to find old friends. I'm 40, so in highschool, we didn't have cell phones and email. People just sorda went away and lost touch. In the past few months I've been on, I've gotten in touch with some of my very good friends from high school and college. I've even got together with some of them and had a great time rehashing old memories. I may pop on FB about once every 2-3 weeks and poke around for a few minutes but that's about it. I have no more than 20 friends, all of whom I keep up with now.

To have 100's of people as friends seems kinda odd, but for me using it the way I do has been a really good thing.
