Below is my audio setup:

Receiver: Onkyo SR605
DVD player: Samsung 1080P9
Movie : Lord of the Rings - Two towers (Dolby Digital)

I have connected DVD audio to receiver using Digital Co-axial cable.
In receiver setting i have selected COAX1 as audio connection for my DVD player.

Now i was expecting to see Dolby Digital on my Onkyo display but its not the case.
Onkyo gives me below options for audio:
1. Neo 6 Music
2. Neo 6 Movie
3. Prologic II Movie
4. Prologic II Music
5. Prologic II Game
6. Neautral
7. Direct

DVD player has a Audio button and when i clicked on it, it showed me Audio as PCM (no idea what it means) and the other option i could select was Bitsream.

Can you please help me in figuring out why i am not getting Dolby Digital.

Your player should be using Bitstream for Audio.

Digital Coaxial can only pass 2 channel PCM

It can bitstream dolby digital just fine though.
