They are a sample of the much desired CD upgrade mat kit (sold online on audiophille sites everywhere). You stick the light grey ones (with the holes) on the CD and use the dark material to cover the ears.
That way, through resonanant transfer of energy between the two material, the sounds is greatly improved. The bass will get tighter, the mids move more to the middle and the highs reach the crispness without being harsh.
