What is the most expensive subwoofer?

My friend was asking me what the most expensive subwoofer is, and I couldn't find anything more expensive than the JL Gotham, or the Thigpen Rotary Woofer. Aside from any DIY subs, what is the most expensive sub out there?

Krells master reference @ over 20k is petty steep as well as the thor from Wilson. The TL-horn loaded sub that was done for that insane Italian setup costs about 40k.

With all of the "We think an amplifier circuit should be placed in a vacuum, to keep it from being affected by any kind of vibrations" going around, I'm completely surprised that the Krell puts the amp module in the cabinet with two woofers. That just doesn't make any sense.

@ 400lbs and cast aluminum construction, you can set a wine glass on it and it doesn't ripple.

The most expensive one is the one you get and in return you have to buy the wife whatever she wants as "permission to buy the sub" and you get to listen to her beyatch about it being too loud and hurts her chest, so you have this awesome sub and are using maybe 1/10th of it's power because the WAF is in full force.

The circuits have to be mechanically coupled to the chassis. While sound cannot travel trough a vacuum, what about all the mechanical vibration being passed along the materials used to keep the vacuum in place? Anyone that buys into the vacuum snake oil deserves to spend $25K on a sub. Can you imagine what they spend on the rest of their system. Oh boy! that thought just made me a little giddy (now fainting)...

That said, if they can make electronics and optics (and some pretty delecate ones at that) that survive a space launch, subs are nothing .

If this is indeed true, that would be quite an accomplishment. It pretty much assures that there is no cabinet resonance... and if the wine surface does show a ripple, it is probably from the sound wavers themselves .

Its quite a sight to to see no ripples and and have your chest caving
