Def Tech Pro-Sub 100

What's up with my Def Tech sub? It works fine for an hour or two or sometimes 10 min. then shuts off. It has no switch but a red light on the rear that never shuts off, until recently.
I don't think it's the protection circuit as it comes back on as soon as I unplug it and plug it back in. If it was protection, wouldn't it need more time to reset before comong back on?
I checked the fuse, it looks fine.
Anyone got advice on this one?

Do you have the sub hooked up via RCA cable or speaker wire, if speakerwire then a stray wire could be overloading the amp. If RCA then sounds like the amp itself is defective, agree send Chet an email and see if it's covered.

It's hooked up with RCA cable but I've had this sucker for about 10 yrs. so I'm sure it's not covered. I will check with him about what I might do about it though. It's been a decent unit for little money.

Hey Rat & Matt - Thanks for the connection to Chet. He got right back to me and gave much info on isolating the problem and offered to help if I needed him. That sort of service, on a ten year old unit, makes me want to buy some more Def Tech stuff. Thanks guys.
