Welcome to the forum!

I have an opinion - they are excellent subwoofers. I say that based on my personal experience with my PC13-Ultra and on everything that I've read online (here and elsewhere). Just read around this forum and you'll see that there are a number of us that are quite happy with our SVS subs.

I have also had excellent experiences with their customer service. I suggest that you contact them (phone or e-mail) and ask their opinion on which sub is the better choice for your size room. My Ultra easily handles my area, which is about 22x15x10 and opens up into a large hallway and kitchen. I'd think that the PB12-Plus would handle your area, but I do think it's a good idea to contact SVS to get their opinion.

Welcome Joshua....

As the others have said, SVS is one of the best companies to work with, I have bought 4 subwoofers from them and have been extremely happy with their performance, as well as their customer service, which is hands down the best I have encountered.

The PB12 should have a very good amount of output, but it all depends on how much of a bass freak you are.... that would be not enough output for me.... but i'm a moron... :)

You say you have Bose and Marantz.

I'm assuing you mean a Marantz receiver, yes? Good stuff.

What Bose product are you referring to and how do you plan on incorporating it into the picture?

I have pair of 901s and a SR4023. I am trying to improve the lower frequency output and I heard good things about SVS. Right now just music,

Yeah the SVS subs are really good, but you might look at JL Audio subs since you have kinda small speaker. It might look more fitting.

Questions? Other upgrades?

What do you mean "kinda small speaker" ? I do not understand.

Concerning JL Audio subs, the only ones I could find Fathon and Gotham seem too big and too expensive. I was pushing my limits to buy an SVS for $1149 or b-stock if I could find one.

With a budget of $3000, approximately $1000 for sub , how would you recommend upgrading ? The 901s are only a couple of years old and still sound good. My receiver doesn't have much growth potential. Right now I just have an old Sony Trinitron XBR 36"; I haven't considered replacing it because it still works good and has a pretty good picture

Heh, eh, the SVS PB12-Plus isn't exactly small. Bigger than the JL Fathom f113.:D A couple others that you might consider would be Epik Sentinel/Dragon and should work well in your space.

No, the 901s aren't exactly small. Are you using the Eq with them?

Is this your speaker?

I google'd BOSE 901 and came up with the picture below. Is this what you have? And if so - is this your front 2? In use for center and rears? ...

Off hand - it doesn't look like it's full of "small" speakers (a la the tiny cube variety) so I'm guessing he meant the 901 cabinet itself is small so it might look odd with a large sub cabinet in your room. The 901's pictured about are 2' wide and 1' tall. Not much more than 2 bookshelfs sitting together ...

I'm sorry you didn't realize that this site is not manned by the same people 24/7 (it's not like we're paid) and have the patience to wait for others to read the thread, get up to speed, and offer their input.

Perhaps if you write to the management you can get your money back.

I do have a suggestion, but I'm not gonna waste my time if nobody is there.

If you want it, then reply. Ball's in your court.
