Such as the fantastic deal on that 6190?:D About a years I ago I saw some Veritas in one of their stores, including a pair 2.4i listed for some ridiculously high prices. They disappeared quickly for some reasons.
They had them here too. They were toying with the idea of stocking them, but didn't in the end due to a lack of interest.

I had a chance to hear the energy RC-70 this weekend as well as the bookshelf model. I'm not going to say it's the best thing I've ever heard, but I'd definitely say it's worth the price.

Right on, I purchased the Mirage OMD-28s off ebay even though i have not heard them yet, but theres a return policy so no problemo, and they are 3 hours from me, and great thing is I will be able to compare these to some Energy RC-70s and maybe even the Revel Concerta F12s. If I end up getting all 3 I will do a review comparison.

Mirage OMD28's

FYI, I tracked down a dealer 40 miles away to hear and see the OMD-28's. Looks wise they were very large, and the center channel was way too big, mainly too tall for my consol. The sound was ok. It was set up in the typical dealer sound room, but I was only able to hear it in stereo mode. I thought it was ok, but not what I thought it was going to sound like. IMO Mirage screwed up when they went to the spoon tweeter design.

I am very interested how the RC-70's sound. I was unable to locate those in my area. It seems that the Energy and Mirage speakers are drying up in my area. Magnolia is the only one that still has Mirage, until I located an independant dealer in my area that still had the OMD-28's. He wanted $7,500.00 for the mains. I passed when I saw how large they were. I informed him of the online price and he said it was "sick"!

I still like my Mirage OM-9's, but I am looking for a new speaker with more punch. In the near future I may try auditioning some Axiom products, M60's/M80's. I have recently heard some PSB's, forgot the model.

Tuff stuff, because everyone hears different, plus the room makes a huge difference.

It is sad what Klipsch and the economy is doing to the home theater business.

Paradigm

I located a Paradigm dealer in my area and they thought they were selling Gold, pretty snooty and not real big into showing Demo's like the dealers who carry B&W's. I never got a full demo of the paradigms', and I was a little less impressed with how they looked. Kinda funky with the silver showing towards the bottom end.

I am still on the fence of getting a Emotiva XPA-3 to see if it wakes up the OM-9's and center OM-C2. Is that a good match up to the Onkyo 906?

Also, is it a waste to not get the XPA-5 for the few hundred bucks? The extra two amp channels will probably be overkill for my surrounds OM-R2's?.

;)

Emotiva has a deal going on right now when you purchase the XPA-2 and the XPA-3 together.

Thought that you might be interested.

* By the way, I buy speakers first for the sound, then esthetics is quite secondary.
I don't really buy them to look at them, but more for listening to them. And besides, at night...

** Oh, and some dealers that carry a vast range of models from Paradigm speakers,
have excellent demo rooms. I guess the one where you went was just not up to it.
But at least they are selling a good brand of solid and reliable speakers.

*** And I don't know why you need to add more amps to your excellent,
extremely powerful Onkyo TX-NR906?

Well, maybe my expectations are way too high; but when I watch the openning of Top Gun, I expect my hair to almost blow back as the FA-18 takes off against the blast doors.......I am still working on the center channel reference this issue. I am trying to figure out how to hook up a blower with the center channel :)

I have the same speakers as yours ( powered with pioneer 82TXS). And I am also thinking about getting Emotiva XPA-3. Have you added emotiva in your setup? Did you see any improvements?
