Rotel.
Does anyone know anything about this amp? Can't find much on line about it beside specs. Is Sonance a good brand? I am looking for an amp but I want at least "Rotel" quality or better. Would this be a good one?
Thanks,
Brad
Hi Brad,
The brand Sonance is mainly a manufacturer of in-walls speakers.
They are more focus on that aspect of speakers invisibility, than true performance. They also build subwoofers and multichannel power amps, plus electronics wall plated switches, with volume controls and other functions for multizones application.
I would not put any consideration into their amps for serious listening purpose.
* Rotel is an excellent brand. They build some of the best stereo amplifiers, multichanel power amps, integrated amps, CD players, Surround Processors, A/V receivers, and other audio products too. They are a very reliable company with many award winnings audio components.
They've been around for quite some time too, and they have an excellent audio philosphy, based on balanced technology. They used some of the best parts in their products, based on extended listening sesions by true 'connaisseurs' on music listening. Their team comprised some of the best engineers in audio experience.
I personally own Rotel audio products, and I cannot say enough about thir excellent build quality and audio performance.
Highly recommended. Their power amps are a tremendous value for their exceptionally good build quality, generous amount of excelleny parts, and their superb audio quality that brings fabulous sound performance.
---> Are you looking for a 2-channel stereo amp or a mutichannel amp?
For a 2-channel power amp, look for the Rotel RB-1070 (130 watts per channel),
or the Rotel RB-991 (200 watts per channel).
** These can be found at 'Audiogon' for excellent prices (the RB-991 for less than $400).
Cheers,
Bob
