Instead of waiting for me to make mistakes, why don't you take the initiative,
and come up with better solutions?
I'm just trying to help, why don't you?
And now you have made my ignore list also.. not going to waste time reading thru 50000 LOTR posts to see whats in a thread anymore

Then you are set. Don't worry about external amps. As Band said the receiver will work just fine.

couldnt i just hook the amp up to my reciever i currently have couldnt that work as a pre? or no?
YES, it would work, no problem there. You're set for your pre/pro. :)

As long that your receiver has the preouts required for that.

well i know a reciever would work fine, buyt i already own four speakers and a powered sub that i have had hooked up to my reciever, i discontected them and hooked up the 4 found speakers and they worked, but i cant power all of them with the one reciver i know that much, i know i need an amp, and it is a sony suround sound reciever that is about 4 years old so i am pretty sure it has pre outs

Beacuse I dont reply to every single thread:) I asked the question about what would be used as a pre, didnt I? But the logic still follows that the speakers should be tested first, second explain to the OP just beacuse a speakers states 500 watts it doesnt mean jack. Throwing amps at him and assuming everything else isnt being much help is it

This is very insulting, of poor taste, and uncall for.

So, like I said at the beginning, you just need a couple powerful stereo amps to power them.

So now, we're looking at the possibility of the Behringer A500 amps (if only lsiberian can tell us the price on those); or we can check at Audiogon for used powerful amps. That should be quite easy to find exactly what you need for these 4 big speakers that require lots of juice, and it should also be bery affordable. We don't want to pay more than we need.
I'll try again to ask lsiberian what's the price on these Behringer amps, and I will also check for you about good deals for the type of amps you're looking for, and for the least amount of money. How's that? :)

It'd be a receiver actually.

Your not needing to drive these all that hard and you said they get plenty loud with your current receiver.

What's your receivers model number?

I am working very hard on it right now. Would it be possible for you to stretch your budget just by a little?

Now that I just finish to read this full thread provided by Scott, I am a little embarrassed. Should I be?

Thanks Scott for providing this important piece of information, you just get back on my book of good smart people. :)
And I truly mean it.

* I'll make an effort to forget your previous small references, and see them as peaceful sense of humor. Actually, I did laugh at these little new smilies, they are so cute, I just love them.

Please, forgive me, if for any reason, you felt sad. I wish the sun can shine again in your heart, cause I'm sure you're a great guy deep down, perhaps we both just don't realise it yet. But now, with this, yes, I can see the good light from you.

One thing I really want to make sure here. I am very honest with my words, and they come from my heart with sincere meaning. I ain't the type of guy to bull people around, that is for sure. So, when I said something, I really mean it.
And right now, I love you.

Sincerely,
Bob

Wow! You're better than me at that sir!
That looks simply awesome!
I would give this a very serious considerartion. Just contact the seller, and ask for more details. These could be the perfect antidote. :)

You're so good at that, that now, I ain't sure anymore, and I feel embarrassed by my incompetence.

Is there something else that I can do for you sir?

Regards,
Bob

have you ever even heard of this comaniy?
and should i go with the 4 channel or two channel?
First question: Nope, but they just look awesome. Should be easy to Goggle them and find out more about them. :)

Second question: Easier to find two stereo power amps than one with 4 channels, don't you think? And besides, with two stereo amps, you got way more choice, plus exactly what you want, right? :)
