I was shocked and then laughed my butt off....
Hahaha.

Reminds me of when I was a little kid. My dad, who raised me, wasn't religious, but I had some Christian grandparents I'd go see that were on my moms side. They were all jacked up on Jesus and I'd get a nice dose of it every time.

I'd be like 6 and they'd be reading the bible to me and God would like drown everyone, including women and children, and then he'd kill a towns women and children ...and then the animals too (just for the **** of it?)

If they were make the Bible into a movie, it'll need to be NC-17 as God comes down holding peoples head underwater and drowing people.. I think where I stopped was some girl is gunna die unless she has a kid, so they offers up a maid to have it with her, and he goes down on her... which, last time I checked didn't work to see in the making babies department.... maybe, maybe warmup,,,

I know first hand that religion is not a topic for public forums...

That said, that graph, while "seemingly" true, is incredibly out of context. Also, Satan does not have the power to either give life, or take it, without the allowance of God. Thats pretty absolute.

Take war, terrorism, murder and so on... These acts are directly related to Satan's evil, but were ultimately permitted by God in ways we'll probably never understand.

Just as Job was tested, God allowed it, but would not let Satan kill him.

Alright, thats that as written and portrayed in the Bible. Minimal religious implications.(you don't want me to go there)

For those wondering, the 10 Satan "Killed" were the 7 sons and 3 daughters of Job, which God allowed.

Job's suffering and sacrifice as documented in the book of "Job" has been an outline for centuries and generations of Man's dependence of God and God's grace toward men that trust in him. For the religious, this is hardly "evil".

This is just one example of how God "defeats" Satan in all things.

It also outlines the age old ethical question of killing one to save thousands. This dilemma is presented several times in scripture as sensi briefly mentioned.

Somebody remind me quickly, How many people did Satan create?

How many people have died?

All except 2 + those living right now according to the bible.

I wouldn't dwell too much on it.

The more appropriate question is "How many Gods did man create?";)
That is certainly appropriate.... But for the sake of discussion...

Religious or not...

Lets pretend that the Bible is a Harry Potter book or some other piece of literature. You can pretend its fiction. Fine with me.

The biggest problem I have with "stats" like this is the pulling something like that out of context to change the story. If you're going to assume that the plot is dependent on one part, then the plot must depend on all parts relative to the subject, not just the ones that help you create an argument. Again, assuming the Bible has zero relevance to anything other than a really long story. One would have to understand the back story, and the future consequences of any action and how they tie together.

I'm not gonna beat ANYBODY over the head with a Bible, I won't. But don't post something like that unless you understand what you're posting, what it means, and how it ties into the story as a whole.

For example: If you saw just the end of Old Yeller, you could deduce that (still assuming fiction) that "whats his name" was a cruel dog killer. Its just not true and that deduction would be falsely out of context.

Thats my problem with Jamies post. Forget that its the Bible. One, its inaccurate not by opinion but based on "the story" and two its extremely out of context and has NO relevant meaning whatsoever.

On the other hand, and more of a religious one, I suppose, any willingness to admit credibility to the said chart would indeed (through circular theory) suggest that God does indeed exist. You could not isolate the charts subject matter from the rest of the text to make it an argument without admitting that you are only "buying in to" some of it. Again, argument credibility gone.

I would like to reiterate that I my priority is not to make a believer out of anybody, its simply to point out the fallacies of such production. It never ceases to amaze me how biblical propaganda such as this gets people so stirred up.

Barrack Obama is a terrorist.

Relax man. First of all Obama may actually be a Christian. From what I can tell he's not done half the stuff he's accused of.

On the main point, people have been persecuting us for centuries and interestingly enough we do best when persecuted for our faith. So I consider it pure joy to be put down by Jamie's post. I will not recant my faith for anyone you can say what you want but God has personally gotten me through the most difficult challenges in my life. He led me to Darcy my future wife. He gave me a life that i could only dream of. But even more he gave me assurance that death is even better than life. In him I have no fear only courage. I'm at my best when I'm closest to him.

No one can understand a relationship they don't have. I won't hold it against anyone.

I appreciate the post... My last statement was simply a point that is just as ridiculous as the OP. Simply an example of manipulated information for a specific agenda. That's all... I do not believe Obama is a terrorist at all.

On the other hand, I tried to contest the OP based on logical thinking and not my own beliefs.

I was implicitly trying to separate the two..., the original post makes no sense even if described as a completely fictional account of a people group's history.

Since it is actually based on a belief system, how can one "believe" the original post to contain any relevance and throw the rest out? If it doesn't fit into your beliefs, then the original post is meaningless in its entirety.

If it does fit into your beliefs, then you understand the principal outlined and it further reiterates the Divine power of God.

In any case, which everybody here falls into one of the above categories, the original post is nothing more than made up whooplah... You CANNOT argue against that... Nobody here has even tried... Because it can't be done...

If somebody can provide me some insight into the posts relevance, I'd greatly appreciate it... You'll be in one of the generic categories above...

One of the first things that popped into my head:

Helen Tasker: Have you ever killed anyone?
Harry: Yeah, but they were all bad.

Relevance? Probably none, but I always found that part of the movie funny. :)

The funny part was that she initially didn't believe him. He was being honest, and she was skeptical. Who could blame her based on what she experienced.
