What do you guys use to seal gaps? I have some all purpose caulk laying around, can I use that?

I use titebond actually. I found it works just fine. But you can try bondo or caulk

That's for the joints of the box not the speaker area.

yep. use the glue. if the gaps are kinda big, put some slivers of wood in there first. otherwise the glue will just run out.

Gaps is what? Joints of speaker boxes? TiteBond is great as long as the joints are cut well and don't have big gaps. Gorilla Glue is good, polyester resin, caulk, hot glue....

Probably unnecessary, but when I finish a speaker box I run a bead of this over all the joints:

It comes in an aerosol can so application is quick and easy.

Call me crazy, but I've grown to hate gorilla glues.

Its gaps in the slot port, just minor cut imperfections. I used the caulk, I'll let you know how it goes.

But I love the Gorilla glue.

IMO that's the way to go. Easy clean up and paintable too. The last guy I recommended that to asked me if I got royalties. :)

It's only a few dollars. I use glue to glue and caulk to caulk type of thing. Caulk stays where you put it and glue runs so they don't act the same. For me it's a 'the right tool for the right job' approach but I have made due plenty of times.;)
