Please explain why;) I can think of a whole lot of booskshelves that sound better than those DT towers:)
You're right, what I meant was that he'll probably get better sound quality with a boxed speaker that with an in-ceiling or in-wall.

Im definitely not going with in-ceiling or in-wall speakers. Either Bookshelf, on wall or floor standing.
I think what im going to do first is get my receiver situation straightened out this way i can get all the connections i need then look into speakers. or maybe ill come across some speakers while shopping for a receiver. I spoke to aperion and they were pushing Marantz but im still going to look around.

Would i be stupid to elminate Yamaha from my choices? I have a Yamaha now and liked it.

Also as far was watts are concerned should i try to look for something with over 100 per channel?

Looking at the speakers Sensitivity and Impedence, combined with room size to help determine which AVR would work for you.

OK i have a question in reference to HDMI upconversion. All of my components are HDMI. Blu ray, XBOX 360, and HD box. Will i need a receiver that does the upconversion?
