I have the following items for system set-up:

Comcast HD BOX

OPPO blue-ray BDP-83

KEF 3500SE surround speakers with subwoofer

SAMSUNG LN46A650

I am looking for a a/v receiver to work well with this system, I have been looking at the Onkyo tx-sr806, Marantz sr7002, any suggestions would be a big help. Also any suggestions on the size of speaker wire to use, the room size is: 12x18 with 8ft ceilings that opens into the kitchen area, longest run for speaker wire is around 15ft

Thanks

Glenn

Do you mean the 3005 system? If so both of the avrs you mentioned are probably overkill in terms of power.

Id recommend getting the one that has the features that you need. All of the mid level onkyos, denons, pioneers, yamaha ect will do fine. I would recommend getting a unit with preouts so when you upgrade your speakers and if you need more power you can just add amp and keep the avr as a pre.

The HK 354 and Denon 1910/790 would be my picks. Both will power your speakers without issue and both can be had for under $600.

hi Glenn,

The Marantz SR7002 is the better receiver from your other choice. It will match perfectly with your Kef speakers. That's the one I will get myself.
And it will have all the power you need for your room's size.

For speaker cables, go for 12AWG (gauge). A good quality copper cable will do just fine.
Blue Jeans Cables is just your ticket. (They sell them right here at Audioholics store.) :)

Cheers,

Bob
