I'm highly anticipating these two. I thought maybe some people with definitive information could keep us updated on these.

I must have the XMC-1 and UPA-7 combo ASAP!

Not much of an update, but better than nothing at all, right?

Well the UMC-1 is shipping at the end of this month. :)

The UPA-7 is available now, duh.

And the XMC-1, I just don't know, yet.

I would not ever pull the trigger on the XMC1 until I get enough feedback on their Emo-Q RC.

Automatic "room correction" is the coolest thing, and IMO by far the most value rich feature available in processors today.

It is in fact my #1 priority in choosing any processor in the future. I wish ARC was more affordable. Hard to beat XT for $600 though, so I'm still sitting tight at the moment.

MCAAC has some strong fans too.

I keep asking everyone about Trinnov (as Outlaw will sport it too), but I have a hard time getting feedback.

As for EmoQ, I really have no idea how resolving it might be, nor the amount of flexibility it has, let alone the implementation.

Here you go http://www.sherwoodamerica.com/ from the Sherwood site. They are collaborating with Outlaw.
That site doesn't really do anything for me, but thanks. My whole point was about finding first hand user reports. Not company spiel. I know they had Trinnov at the last SOTU, and IIRC, it was not working properly, which I know is not a good sign. But, I want to know how well it works when the unit is not defective. Trinnov makes their own units too, but enough of the hijack. I'd love for someone to explain what the Emo-Q is all about. Here's a pic of the Trinnov optimizers. However, I don't see myself buying a stand-alone unit anytime soon, let alone a pre/pro sporting any particular RC.

Emotiva UMC-1 with EMO-Q, Automatic Room EQ Correction.

I guess we'll have to wait about the Emo-Q, until people get their hands on the UMC-1, and comment on it's performance.
Should be within a couple of weeks at most.
The Emotiva UMC-1 pre/pro list price is $799

But I think TRINNOV will walk all over it. :D
The Sherwood Newcastle R-972 A/V receiver will eventually show up, and from what I've been reading so far, it is very promising.
The Sherwood Newcastle R-972 A/V receiver list price is $1,799

And of course, there is also Outlaw pre/pro model 997, with Trinnov, coming soon too.
The Oulaw 997 pre/pro list price is $1,399

* Stay tune, it promesses to be very exciting times just ahead. :)

The stand alone TRINNOV has a track record, but the chipset in avrs has had many hickups and Emo's has yet to be tested. Ill stick to REW and the DCX2496 and a mic or the value mic which keeps the cost under $400 for peq/crossover combo.

Well, they suppose to ship the first batch to the people that already placed an order, at the end of this month (today!).
Then, they will be able to have their second supply for non-orders near mid-July or end of July.

What? Did you heard differently, very recently?

June 29th, 2009

To all of our good friends,

I know all of you have been patiently and anxiously awaiting the release of the UMC-1. We are sure you have noticed that June is quickly passing into the history books with little news regarding the release. Fear not. We have been burning the midnight oil to meet the projected release date. Unfortunately we just ran out of time.

In an ongoing effort to keep you informed, we want to give you the latest update on where we are. During our final testing of the video engine, we discovered a minor issue with the DCP on the HDMI. This is really a simple fix that only requires some minor board re-work. That particular board is being re-worked as you read this and we will be back on track very soon.

More news to follow………….

Your friends at Emotiva
This is the reason I couldn't wait around for the XMC-1

* Hey Nemo, about the Onkyo PR-SC886P. ;) That is one heck of a machine for a very good price. :) Two HDMI outputs too. :)
It's a great piece, but same problem as my 906. It won't output different sources simultaneously. :(

I know it's a crazy requirement, I'll just have to wait till one capable of it comes out.

There are solutions to that, but only if you don't care for TrueHD/DTS-HD and just go for LPCM via HDMI or DD/DTS via optical.

But I still say wait for the XMC-1.

Honestly, for the money I'd have to spend on a good HDMI switcher, I may as well wait for the Emotiva.

Come on Emotiva, are ya listening? Lotta people want this product!

Nobody wants to have to wait. It's a pain.

But I think this XMC-1 will be worth the wait.

Perhaps my Denon 5308 may never die. But if it does, I would have to put the XMC-1 + XPA-5 (sounds like algebra!:D) on the top of my list.

8 HDMI Inputs and 3 HDMI Outputs, among the other million features!:D

Un-freaken-believable!:D

And the full 5 yrs parts & labor warranty doesn't hurt either.
