yeah, he does, prolly doesn't help that the DVD burner that he has in it is white :D
the thing is loud as hell when the fans are on high that when his computer was turned off (which was like 4 times over the course of the school year), it felt so awkwardly quiet.
They have switches... you're friend doesn't seem very bright.

No, he just likes an obnoxiously loud computer "so that everything will stay cool"
Pffffftttt, these 120mm fans push like 39CFM on low @25dB (56CFM on Medium, 79CFM on High), and the big one on the top pushes over 80CFM on low @24dB (108CFM on Medium, 134CFM on High). With 2 intake fans and 2 exhaust, plus the option of a side panel intake, you don't need any more cooling. My 3.5GHz core 2 Duo idles at 33*C, and loads at 50*C.

I feel sorry for you.

Eh, I'm not rooming with him anymore, so he can go ahead and keep as fans as high as he wants. He set them at low once and you could barley hear them, but he wasn't happy with that :D

+2 for bad wire management in the Antec 900. Having the PSU on the bottom doesn't help any either.

Here's the inside of my 900:

Wow I JUST noticed the sound card in between the video cards. I hope you've got a window fan for some airflow.

Oh, and how do you like the Zalman? Thinking of getting one for the HTPC when I decide to dump money into it.

Lots o' fans, and I run them all on high, so it's noisy. I'd rather have cool than quiet.

CPU runs at ~110*F all day. I couldn't tell you if it's quiet or not due to the other fans, but it definitely cools. The copper blades were touching one of my RAM sticks on that motherboard, so you have to make sure it will fit. I've since gotten another motherboard where they aren't touching.

The sound card also isn't between the video cards anymore either.

Solid machine. I built it in 2007 and it still handles everything I throw at it.
