This is my apartment setup.

I started out with Auralex but they were to exspensive
to treat the entire space @ ($70 per panel).
After alot of searching I found a local manufacturer @ ($44 per panel).

Bass traps in front. Absorbtion on sides, table and rear w/ diffusion on rear top.
Auralex MoPads under speakers and sub.

When I returned from my 8yrs of travel. I took my stuff out of storage. Bought some new speakers and a dvd player. (I had some Blose speakers).
This is the beginning: 2006

My sound had outgrown my tv and I was bitten by the A/V bug. So here is progress: 2009

Nice setup. And wow you really treated that room. I'd be happy with half that many panels. $44 bucks is a great price. Do they ship?

Cheers,

Nice... I like the choice of room treatments... Have you noticed a big difference? Thanks for posting up. Just curious, do you have any seating that actually faces the TV? Have you considered re-using the speaker stands from your original setup?

That's quite a bit of an improvement there :D
Are you using that dell as a home theater PC? I was wondering if you could tell me how that works for you. I have an old Dell PC in my basement and I was thinking about moving it over to the TV down there and using it as a HTPC.

2) The couch faces the TV. I've moved it over a bit by 1ft to get the arm off the wall . The panel was creating a cool spot.

3) I gave the stands away. Better to place the speakers on the A/V center. The MoPads take care of decoupling.

4) Living in an apartment, sound transmission control is critical. When I pass other peoples apartments the sound is leaking big time out of their places.
As for me. At a comfortable listening level I can put my ear to my door and hear a faint noted sound.

*I treated the 1st and 2nd reflection points and then did the 3rd for continuity.
The rear lower wall was done to control the sound behind the couch and the upper rear wall was diffused to keep the upper air active.
The glass table top was done when a reflection was noticed after all was said and done.

The lack of reverb and echo makes for a clean signal arriving at the seating positions.

Just a regular PC. My LCD is my monitor.

Not to t-jack, (yeah, t-jack) but what are the specs on the old dell? I found a machine at my place that was several years old. Reformated, maxed out the memory and it works great at my buddies place for a music server and downloaded movies. Not that I would condone pirating of any kind.

Wow. This is one of the nicest setups I have seen in an apartment. I like the attention to detail, speaker placement, and the treatments.

Nice job!

Well. I must give props to Audioholics!

I learned alot by reading almost every tip they had.
From setup and speaker placement to calibration and video tuning.
Reading about acoustic panels and reflection points gave me lots of information to work with.

It was'nt all them, but they gave me a good starting point.

Very complete and thought out setup! I lived in an apartment once and will soon be again, I remember all the hard surfaces so I can imagine how much those room treatments help. It's something I'm going to have to make an effort to do once I get moved in.
