It is going to be very nice and hopefully done just for the warmest part of the summer.

So what kind of speakers are you going to put in for the back of the pool area?:D Some Niles rock speakers?

I want to go with some nice Duals for 50 bucks so they match my other ones.

A little progress today.

Excavation should start on the 9th.

They got started on the patio today and will finish the cuts and grout tomorrow. My pool builder wanted the patio done before he started on his stuff.

Is there gonna be any kind of transition where the tile is at the edge of the patio? Just curious..

That is where it is tricky and we went around and around about this.

It will go from the tile to the stamped concrete without a defined transition.

We considered using a border, trying to match the patteren or using contrasting colors but in the end it will just go from the tile to the stamped concrete.

I can't argue with the wife on stuff like this. I usually try to disagree but everything she comes up with looks awesome so I am just going with it.

Ok, that makes sense. I was a little unsure how the patio was going to tie in to the pool area with the concrete. Since you're not ending the tile on what would have been a vertical surface edge, you'll be just fine. Is your grout gonna match your stamped concrete?

Always best to try to disagree. That way it looks like you're involved, she gets to play the "told you so" card and you get brownie points and a new pool.

I hope it all looks right. The grout is a bone and the concrete is a bone so it should work out. She has done stuff in the house that I was nervous about but it all turned out awesome.

I just want to remind you to be patient and not have the contractor's trucks towed from the street during construction.:D

Good point. I called my cop buddy to tow the tile guys truck but cancelled it at the last second when I remembered he had to come back tomorrow and finish.

Patio was done when I got home. It is dirty but they left a note saying to mop it tomorrow. I guess something has to dry...or can I go ahead and clean it before the wife gets home?

I would wait until tomorrow as the note says just to let the grout cure, no sense in taking a chance by adding too much moisture.

Depending on the grout, I would not wait. The tile setter should have cleaned that up. If that grout haze is left on the tile, it will be an absolute b#### to clean up. I've seen great tile jobs darn near ruined by that. It needs to be cleaned up.
