logitech Z-5500 amp replacement

ok guys i know im new here and all and this is not really a sound system
but a bunch of guys at work piched in and got this system for the shop

that being said its a peice of crap but its loud in a noisy enviroment
all the little speakers have burned out and been replaced the amp has
been repaired about 3 or 4 times in the year we have had it
and last week it totaly fried

i would like to buy a plate amp with 4 speaker out
and of corse the woofer mono so we can enjoy sounds in the shop
everybody is bummed out about it

if you could tell me what you need to make a good system out of this hunk of
junk

thank you guys i know youll have some good ideas

What you need is a receiver. There will probably need to be some connector modifications, but it should work. If you can find one that was part of an "home theater in a box" that has an active "sub" connection that would be ideal. That will save you from having to find a way to crossover the sub.

well its out of warrenty since i have repaired the amp my self
and they only had a 1 year on it anyway

ill try to post some info about it its just a sub with a plate amp of very low quality

reciver wont really work im my enviroment theres lots of steel dust
and they just burn up

the logitech worked well it was inclosed but the amp was made in china

Thanks, but I knew what you were talking about. Call logi and see if they'll send you the amp if you pay for it or if they'll let you ship yours back and put a new amp in there. Other than that, I dunno what to tell you. You could probably rig up a PA plate amplifier or something..
I wouldnt... There's got to be a way to use some kind of receiver without it getting dusty. Otherwise, I'd just get some bookshelf stereo boombox or the like.
