Hello,
i want to order the above home theatre system but it comes with only 5meters long cables for the rear speakers.
My lounge is a bit longer ..!
Since i do not want to install wireless can i buy longer cables for the rear speakers?
what can i do to overcome this issue?
Please note that i want longer cables in order to attach them on the walls and lead them to the rear speakers behind my couch..all in all a distance of abt 10mts.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

I started to investigate this for you this morning, but I got distracted by a cracked radiator (at the car mechanic now). Sorry for the delay in the response. I'll look it up for you when I get home if no one else has gotten you set up before that.

I downloaded the owners manual at home to check the connections for those speakers so that I could give you the details on how to extend the cables. I don't have that here, but I have a high degree of confidence that you'll be able to extend those without much effort.

The speaker wires connect to the main unit with connectors and not bare wire. Your best bet might be to splice the wires and add extension wire in between the splices. That's not difficult at all. It will, however, modify the original wire, so the unit won't be as-purchased if you want to sell it (or bring it back) - just something to consider.

So, you certainly can extend those wires. If you decide to get that unit and still don't want to use the wireless option, let us know if you want any help with splicing the wires.

Why not give us more information? For example, what are the connectors? What gauge is the wire? With speaker wire, as you increase the length, you must also increase the thickness of the wire. If you use a wire thickness that is too small for the distance, the wire will not carry the full signal to the speaker. The high frequencies will be reduced relative to everything else, as well as the overall sound volume.

I did a search on the US Samsung website and can't find the system listed. How about giving us a link to the system's specifications?

Go to your local hardware store

Buy some 14 gauge wire, zip cord. Cut the connectors off each end of your existing wire, about 4" from each connector. Then, splice the new 14 gauge wire to the connectors.
