sherwood p965 locked up

Welcome to the forum!

Is it the buttons on the unit itself that don't work, or just the ones on the remote control? If it's the remote, replace the batteries. If it's the unit, then I'd suggest unplugging the power cord from the wall for about 30 to 60 minutes. One of the processor chips might have locked up, and sometimes removing all power for a little while helps to fix that.

Let us know if that works. If not, we'll need to try something else.

Neal, I have the exact same problem as you. The unit powers up (standby amber), press to power on and it goes to blue, but no display and doesn't work.

I'm not trying to hijack, but want ride along to see if anyone can help with a fix.

FYI,... I've taken mine apart and disconnected the display circuit brd, power supply brd, and no change. I also tried to force a code load via USB but it failed, however, my PC did recognize the Sherwood as a device. I did a processor reset (from standby, press and hold room2 + tone mode then power up), which you may want to try as well.

Also wondering if anyone knows how you unlock these processors.

This is just Sherwood's way of telling you to upgrade to something that has HDMI.

Great! Glad it worked out, and that it was a simple fix. I was relieved when mine did something similar and I was able to fix it like that.
